This isn't about being reasonable. It's about communicating expectations. Their platform mentions that Depreciation will be available BY February, if not sooner. So asking why it's not available (it is February), is not unreasonable. In fact, I'm just asking for clarification of what THEY communicated.

I've asked for this to be investigated. ML should at least be listed as an option, going by past behavior.

Did you go through the Dependent Care interview completely? You have to enter your total amounts and then you have to enter each provider (with tax id) and the totals you paid to each provider. Then the credit will calculate. Make sure you go through the interview completely.
Also, make sure your dependent information is entered correctly and that they qualify. If you have and FSA and/or amounts in box 10 of your W-2, your credit will be limited.

That is exactly how I entered it in TurboTax, and within each state return (for states that don't allow netting losing sessions with winning sessions) which I have a W2G, I allocated a portion of the total winning sessions for each state. I also have a detailed session log in a spreadsheet, as well as ATM receipts proving my starting cash in each session. So I have all of the required documentation and proof, per IRS guidelines. The problem is that TurboTax does not allow me to attach the session logs to my return and declare that I am using the session method. This is an extremely important part of the reporting, since I won't be reporting the total W2G amounts I won over the course of the year. As a result, I am likely to get audited when they see I am reporting much smaller total session wins than what my total W2G's sum up to. I want TurboTax to create a function that allows me to attach documentation of my session logs, and also have the ability to declare in my return that I am reporting gambling activity using the session method.

The earnings on the distributions are tax exempt if you use them for qualifying education expenses. You should enter the Form 1099-Q which reports the 529 plan distributions in TurboTax first. Then enter your Form 1098-T. When you enter the Form 1098-T you will be asked if any of your scholarship income was used to pay for room and board and to enter the amount. If you used the scholarship money for room and board, then that part of the 529 distributions cannot be used to pay for it, and sometimes that can make a portion of the 529 plan distributions taxable, so you need to review your entries there. Also, if your scholarship income is more than your education expenses, that can make a portion of your 529 plan distributions taxable, since the scholarship money paid for your education expenses.

Please clarify if you are a W-2 employee or are self-employed. How is the per diem reported to you?

If you are referring to entering contributions to a 529 plan, steps will vary based on your resident state. Can you clarify your state so we can assist you further?

Where do I find this number for 'Property taxes on your main home'? The problem.. 1098 Mortgage Interest Box 10 for ~$10,000 is 'informational only' and includes more than just property taxes. My county property bill shows how much I paid for the year, but it also includes things not deductible such as 'trash service' and other things. So.... where do we get this number from?

I am filing as married filing jointly. We both work and have W2's entered. Our total income is under $200k. Under DEPENDENT CARE CREDIT, it says NOT ENTERED for 2025. When I enter in our $15,420 in daycare expenses with my provider's EIN, it just tells me "It looks like you don't qualify" with no explanation. My calculations show that Turbotax would be shorting me a $2,500 refund if I file with them. I like using the software every year for a reasonable $80 fee but not if I will lose $2,500 due to an error. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can prepare Form 1041 and CA-541 using TurboTax Business. State products are sold separately by state, tax year, and business entity type. When you purchase and install the California Fiduciary module, CA-541 will be automatically populated from your federal return. You can and should review the state return for accuracy before you file.
