@PatriciaV  Hi Patricia, please see the attached after I followed your instructions. The state is Maryland.   Also, before I sent the file, I took out the two overrides on lines 5 and 7 of the related Noncash Contributions Worksheet that flow directly to the Form 8283, so you should see the error in the description of what was donated (there's no number of shares indicated) as well as the error in the method to determine the FMV of the contribution on that form and the Form 8283 (erroneously says comparative sales rather than average sales price).   Lastly, when I log out of turbotax, the method for determining FMV is deleted in the step by step even though I selected average sales price. However, the form for "Additional Info" under the form form "Charitable Org" has a drop down menu on Line 4 for FMV method. I selected Average Sales Price there too. And the top of that form does have the correct description including the number of shares. But these two pieces of information don't flow correctly to lines 5 and 7 of the related Contribution Worksheet, which then flows incorrectly to the Form 8283. So it looks like the programming error is somewhere between that Additional Info form and the related Noncash Contributions Worksheet and Form 8283.   Please keep me updated on the timing of the fix to the IT errors here, I'd like to file my return this month after I receive one more 1099. Lastly, if it would help, I'd be happy to talk to you and/or to IT directly if you reply back with a direct line phone number.
No, this is not normal.  What's the rejection code that TurboTax is giving you? And for what State return?

I suggest you look on your return to see if the information from the K-1 is included on your Form 1040. K-1 schedules come from a partnership or S Corporation. The income on those forms would transfer to Schedule 1, line 5 of the Form 1040. If that amount is correct, then you should not have a problem with the K-1 schedules not appearing on your tax return and it should be good to file.   To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:   Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

Got it. Medicare premiums paid by Social Security on my behalf (because the amount is automatically deducted from my Social Security Benefits) are paid to Medicare as a part of my full Social Security Benefit, which in my case, is 85% taxable on the full amount. The Medicare premium amount is not deducted separately from my Social Security benefit as a pre-tax deduction.    On the brighter side, I can look at it still as essentially getting Medicare premiums non-taxable because my SS benefit is only 85% taxable. My Medicare premium deducted from my Social Security benefit amounts to roughly 10% of the whole SS benefit...so I'll take it as a win. Thanks!

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)   The deduction is not on the same line as your standard deduction.  It is shown separately.     2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)     For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.   (The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)   The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it. IRS Schedule 1-A https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040s1a--dft.pdf   Need to see it? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/preview-turbotax-online-return-filing/L77WCkvnu_US_en_US?uid=m681fkhr   If you are not getting the senior deduction it is because Your date of birth in MY INFO shows that you were not 65 by the end of 2025 Your income is too high You are filing married filing separately

File it by mail.   Print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it.   Use a mailing service like certified mail  to track so you will know it was received since you will have a long wait.   Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

I suggest you compare your state return this year to last year to see what has changed. If your income is about the same but your refund is significantly less, often your tax withheld will be less and that will account for the difference. I suggest you look in box 17 on your W-2's and compare the tax withholding listed there with what was listed there in the previous year to see if it decreased significantly.   You can see your state tax summary while working on your tax return in TurboTax and compare it to your state tax return from the previous year. If you see numbers that don't match properly, you can investigate further to see what has changed.   To view your state tax summary while you are working in your state tax return:   Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary   *You need to be working in your state tax return to see the state tax summary.*

No, leaving this item blank rather than entering zero will not raise any flags.  You will not be able to file with a zero in the box.   @Bruce-W
In interview mode see Other Tax Situations / Form W4 and Estimated Taxes

Thank you for the swift reply.  Oh boy, will all this extra explanation and forms trigger a letter from the IRS to me?  Would love to avoid that...
Why is this so?   Can I still submit my tax return? Will it be correct even though Turbo Tax says K1 not started even though I entered all the information?

They say to print and sign but this seems like such a hassle when I checked all the boxes and we both signed where needed + added pin.

You only need the file ending in .tax2024 to transfer into 2025.   On the old computer, Your tax files end in .tax or .tax2022 or .tax2023 or .tax2024 etc.  They should be in your Documents in a Turbo Tax folder.  You should also have the pdf files of each year.  Or search your computer for all files ending in .tax.  Also if you haven't done it,  I would open each year in the program and save it as a PDF file, go to File-Save to PDF so you don't need the program installed to view or print your return in the future like to get a mortgage or loan, etc.   What I would do is just copy the whole Turbo Tax folder that is under your Documents.  That should be where the .tax files and pdf files are stored.  Copy that folder to a flash drive or best yet is to burn it to a CD or DVD and then you will have a backup of them.   Then on the new computer copy the folder (or files) from the flash drive to your Documents folder.    See this article on how to move your tax return to another computer……. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-data-file/help/how-do-i-move-my-tax-data-file-to-another-computer/00/26128

Yeah.  I made the mistake of buying the early version of Turbo tax 2025 this year, thinking I would get a head start.  Won't do that again.  Not only was it almost twice as expensive, it didn't update for me to be able to use it until the same time it would have been if I purchased it at Costco.  Then it turns out, the option to use the online version for Quick Employer forms was not available to me until now, after the deadline.  It was not available earlier when I was trying to do them....learn for next year.
