You should enter the information from your W2 as it is issued to you by your employer.  Box 7 on a W2 is used to report Social Security tips.    However, due to the recent changes to reporting "qualified tips" on Form W-2 for the 2025.  Some employers are reporting tips on Box 14 and label them as "Tips," "QualTips," or similar.  If this is your case, you can use the amount on Box 14 to calculate your deduction.     You will need to enter this amount as "qualified tips,"  when TurboTax asks for them.     No Tax on Tips: How It Works in the One Big Beautiful Bill How do I enter unreported tips?

When you use online TurboTax you do not have access to the forms, schedules or worksheets until you pay your fees.    You can only preview Form 1040, and schedules 1,2, or 3.   What you may not understand about claiming medical expenses is that there is a very difficult threshold to cross.   Only the amount that is over 7.5% of your AGI "counts."      MEDICAL EXPENSES The medical expense deduction has to meet a rather large threshold before it can affect your return. The amount of medical (including dental, vision, etc.)  expenses that will count toward itemization is the amount that is OVER 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. You should only enter the amount that you paid in 2025—do not include any amounts that were covered by insurance or that are still outstanding.  Of course, your medical expenses plus your other itemized deductions still have to exceed your standard deduction before you will see a difference in your tax due or refund.   To enter your medical expenses go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Medical>Medical Expenses       2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.   To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

thx for confirming that this is issue on desktop version.  some people suggested that I could buy desktop version to directly edit the education worksheet. this also confirms that it is a bug in TurboxTax 2025. It is also a big disappointment that how TurboTax tested their software before releasing, they did not even listen to user's feedback.
