@harr2025    There is a Very STRANGE pop-up (maybe two of them)  you have to accept....and you cannot use the BRAVE browser:   From Doug34: "I initially ran into the same problem described by others here. The Intuit website declares success, but TurboTax doesn't get the document. In my case this was caused by the fact that I denied the Intuit site permission to access my local network. Choose Allow, and you should be fine. If you already denied permission, you will be stuck until you reset this permission. In Chrome on Windows, you can do this by clicking on the View Site Information icon just to the left of the address bar. Turn on Local Network Access and try again. This solved the problem for me."
I paid off my mortgage this year, but my 1098 shows a large balance in box 2.  Shouldn't box 2 show 0?

Thanks, I actually have not done it yet  I did try with a different filer and after putting in the 1099 r as is(there were no questions asked) it prompted me to upgrade software as the  form was needed due to the t code in box 7. With turbo tax, my understanding is that upon answering the questions,  it wouldnt be needed,   however I have gotten differemt answers as to whether it was required to complete that form for the irs The advice was that I should complete it to avoid a penalty and or an audit asking me to prove this was non taxable due to the 1099 r reporting . Another answer said that if I used the software that dosent  require it,  that it will take longer to process as the irs would have to investigate whether it is qualified or not. I have nothing to prove the 5 year rule was met outside of 2 letters from the the bank . One that  only stated it was a qualified distribution and the other stating when the acct was opened(which was over 25 years ago. The problem   is i have no documentation of when any contributions were made(as i was told it isnt about the acct opening date , its about the contribution date. )The bank does not keep records after 7 years so I cannot imagine the irs looking for it but not sure At the end of the day, it should be obvious that an acct this old would have been Funded well over 5 years ago but proof of it is impossible to obtain. If I go with the software to include the form , I have to upgrade to a certain addition but if i do it with turbo tax I think  I would still be able to file with the free file sonce the form wouldnt be required. Thanks for your feedback

It is probably not taxable but you should enter it into TurboTax just to be sure you are not in an Alternative Minimum Tax situation.   You can enter Form 3921 into the Investment Income section.   The last section in investment income is ISO Exercise and Hold.  Click Start or Update there and answer yes to the Did you buy and hold in 2025?  and also on  Did you receive a Form 3921? question.

I am trying to fill out my son's return for him using TurboTax.  He works various part-time jobs, none of which offer health insurance.  He received a form 1095A for his marketplace plan.  Column A showed his monthly premium, but Column B and C were blank, which is how it's been in prior years.  I went to the IRS credit calculation tool and found the SLSCP premium amount and entered that into Column B.  He did not receive any advance tax credit, so I left Column C blank (and entered $0 when it complained about it being blank).  In the past 3 years, TurboTax computed his tax credit just fine, but this year it's computing $0, and instead putting all his premiums into itemized deductions (he takes the standard deduction)   The income eligibility rules say that income must be at least 100 percent but no more than 400 percent of the federal poverty line for their family size (he's single).  The FPL for 2025, for a single person, appears to be $15,650.  His total income is ~$18,000, so it seems to me like he should qualify for the tax credit.   Why is TurboTax not calculating a credit?

I can't make this any simpler either. This is all I've got. I don't see what you see. Premier 2025 downloaded from TTAX website is not matching up to what you're showing. I'm reporting a bug - I solved the problem on getting the taxes filed. I just ask y'all remember the first law of software - if something has occurred, it is possible. I can't explain it, but here it is. do what you will with it.
I think it takes a few days before they have the file ready for import into tax software.
Using a Mac, click on the TurboTax menu.  Click on Forms. When in Forms mode, click on Open Form at the top left of the page Type in What-if.  Click on the result to open the worksheet.

I would double-check the QMID # with the IRS site. You may have gotten an incorrect digit in there from the contractor.  If Turbotax says it is blank, it should give you that message when Turbotax checks for errors. If it doesn't, that can only mean that it is NOT blank but there is a problem with the QMID#.

Box 2b of this Form 1099-R is required to have box 2b equal to box 1.  It becomes a QCD based on how you report this on your tax return.   After entering the Form 1099-R as received, making sure to mark the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box on TurboTax's 1099-R form to match what is on the form provided by the payer, as long as you were age 70½ or over during the tax year, on the page that asks, "Do any of these situations apply to you?," TurboTax will provide a box to mark to indicate that you transferred all or part of the distribution to charity.  Once that box is marked, TurboTax will ask how much was transferred to charity and will exclude this amount from the taxable amount shown on Form 1040 line 4b.  TurboTax will also mark the QCD box next to this line on Form 1040.
