Can you clarify?  What do you mean by "total not in final"?  Are you using TurboTax Online or TurboTax Desktop?
I'm using Turbotax Online but the Desktop version should be similar. I'm showing  the screens that eventually lead to requesting you upload or enter the 1098-T

The portion your employer paid may have been listed in box 14 on your W-2 form for the years you were covered. Otherwise, you would have to ask your employer for help determining the amount they paid. You would divide the amount the company paid by the total paid to determine the percentage for the taxable distribution. Multiply that by your distribution for the year to arrive at the taxable portion.
The only thing you can deduct in 2025 is Mortgage Interest/Taxes, if you itemize your deductions. You would treat the house as a second home.

Hi, I am a resident in Vermont as is my college aged daughter.   My daughter attends college in California and had a part time job there.  I know she has to file a non-resident CA return for the income earned in CA.  She however also has unearned income.  Because of this, it is asking for  all kinds of info off of my CA form 540 etc..  I don't file in CA so therefore don't have any of these forms.  Her unearned income is already getting hit with the kiddie tax on her Federal return as well as her Vermont return since that is her state of residence.    Do I just enter zeros on her CA return where they are asking for my information??     Thank you

According to a TurboTax Help Article:   Employers can put just about anything in box 14—it's a catch-all for items that don't have their own dedicated box on the W-2.   In TurboTax, enter the description from your W-2's box 14 on the first field in the row. Enter the dollar amount and select the correct tax category that goes with that description.   If none of the categories apply, scroll to the bottom of the list and select Other (not classified). Don’t worry. We'll figure out if it impacts your return or not. If we need more information, we'll ask you.   If box 14 is blank, just skip over it. Don't enter a 0 for any blank boxes.

It sounds like you are entering a distribution from a retirement plan or IRA reported on Form 1099-R.  The distribution amount is reported in Box 1, but there is also a state distribution box 16.  Financial Institutions don't always populate that box, so it could be blank on your form.  If it is blank, you still need to enter a state distribution amount if there was any state tax withheld.  If this is the case, enter the amount from Box 1 (or Box 2a if there is an amount in that box).

@ezshopr    Go thru (edit) the forms that did have information on them, and make sure the numbers match what is on the actual paper/PDF forms the  brokerage sent to you.   IF they match, then you can delete the empty ones.  The empty ones might actually be prior year forms that transferred in from your tax filing from last year.

If your tax return is rejected, you can correct it and resubmit.   However, you won't have to correct it for the senior deduction as the senior deduction is automatically calculated by TurboTax based on the dates of birth you entered in the My Info section of TurboTax.   The senior additional deduction is not included in the standard deduction but appears on line 37 of Schedule 1-A of your form 1040, with that amount flowing to line 13b of your form 1040.   In TurboTax Online, you can only view Schedule 1-A after registering and paying the TurboTax fee.   But you can preview your form 1040 and check line 13b of your form 1040 which includes the senior deduction among other deductions if applicable, such as the tip deduction, the overtime or the car loan interest deduction.   To preview your form 1040 in TurboTax Online, follow these steps:   Open your return In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools On the Tools Center page, click on View Tax Summary In the left-hand column, click on Preview my 1040 Your form 1040 will display. Scroll down to line 13b   and you should see the amount of this deduction included in this line.
