I work at a CPA office and believe it or not, the same thing happened, it's been hell. My bosses wife is the gate keeper and responsible for payroll. I filed my taxes before even getting a W-2, I look at W-2s all day (know it's yours on the top) but for some reason out of respect I saw a social that was not mine and subconsciously looked away because I didn't want to see my bosses. She didn't properly report them and I basically can't ask again. I'm a year deep and finally its showing on SSA website after I had to mail W-2, W-2C and statement. It's 2.5hrs to reach SSA and 30 to reach IRS. This is absolutely insane, I basically break even because I have a child on tax credits and they have $5,000 in withholdings...Can I have my money back please, lol. Will update when finally done. Maybe Ill get two at once, it's been that long.

If you are salary employed and use Uber to get to work or on work assignments, then you cannot deduct the cost of that on your tax return. If you are self employed and use Uber for trips associated with your work, you can deduct the cost of that from your self-employment income. However, you cannot deduct the Uber cost associated with travel to and from your work even if self-employed.   If you mean you are an Uber driver, then you can deduct costs associated with your vehicle to the extent it is used for work.

Are you entering the property taxes for your second home in the interview section in TurboTax?  In my test return, I was able to enter second home tax amount, and the amount shows on the Tax and Interest Worksheet in FORMS, and also on Schedule A.    If you can provide more details about what you're experiencing, we'll try to help.    @Occupant 27949

The company employer is in VA. However the employee lives/works in FL the whole year (remote). Does line 15 have to be VA or blank. (Since FL does not do state taxes). On line 17 it is blank showing 0 state tax withheld. The W-2 Form came out as Line 15 VA and Line 17 blank. Does a correction need to be done?

For Tax Year 2025, the IRS had not updated Form W-2 and box 7 only reports SOCIAL SECURITY tips.  Schedule 1-A, used to claim the "No Tax on Tips" deduction also is not ready.   If the tip total is not reported in Box 7 because you are a high earner, you can still claim the full amount if you reported that full amount to your employer on Form 4070 and it is included in Box 1 of your W-2.   I suggest you wait until the IRS addresses this situation as well as the Forms and Schedules involved, and provides guidance on how to report.  It isn't a TurboTax error, it just has not been resolved by the IRS yet.    Be sure you know the reason why the amount is not listed in Box 7 and be sure the tip income is included in Box 1 on your W-2.  Please see the example the IRS shows in the link below.   Here is a link to an IRS article on how to handle the tip situation for tax Year 2025.    @mimisue1979

Yes, and wasn't the 1/16 update a scheduled one? Not sure about the other two.
Thanks!
The program will put the total on line 13b of your tax return based on your age.  [Edited for typo on line # 1/26/2026| 8:45 am PST]
