I’m trying to change my dependency status, but I can’t seem to figure out where to go to do so.
Where do I go to put in my wife's information on 1095A

Yes, the scenario you described sounds like it would qualify for the financial emergency exception. The IRS defines “emergency personal expense" as an unforeseeable or immediate financial need relating to necessary personal or family emergency expenses (Section 115 of the Secure 2.0 Act), which is limited to $1,000 per year.   To report the withdrawal, here's how to do this in TurboTax Online:   Navigate to Federal > Wages & Income > IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R) Add/Edit Your withdrawal will be shown in a summary on a screen that says "Here's your 1099-R info" Choose "Continue" Continue through the interview until you arrive at a screen that says "Did you use your IRA to pay for any of these expenses?" If you qualified for an exception to the penalty, enter the information here.    Here is an article you may find helpful: Can I make a hardship withdrawal from my 401(k)?

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.   First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/ If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?   https://www.irs.gov/refunds            Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?” Or “Rejected?” Or “Printed?”
That's not correct. I originally paid for Home & Business. Then, while I was using it, it required me to upgrade to Home & Business to use the features of Home & Business.
What not needing 2023 taxes to file 2024's city taxes have to do with not needing to file 2024 taxes at all now?? Does anyone know about this??
You will need to clear the cache on your computer and then re-boot it to resolve an issue like that.

Click here to file an extension.  Remember an extension is just for extra time to file, not extra time to pay.  If you are going to owe anything, you will still need to pay by April 15th.    You can pay directly via the IRS website which is the recommended way or you can pay by check.  Be sure to include your SSN on your check and the tax year.

You have federal and state tax withheld from your paychecks during the year.   When you enter that information into the software, the software uses your filing status, your income, and a variety of other factors to determine how much tax you really needed to pay the government.   If you did not have enough tax withheld from your paychecks for the amount you should have paid, you would owe more to the IRS today.  If you had more than enough money withheld, you get some of it back as a refund.   You cannot "request" more back.  It seems that for your income, the government gets somewhere just under $600 from you, and you get the remaining amount back.
I am a foreign service officer who works overseas, but my pay comes directly from the US Government, so my income is taxed and is not excluded. however, turbo tax is making me fill out the 2555-T

Yes, it was amended. Recently, I have gotten a CP21B letter stating about a refund and the summary showed a decrease in taxes. I wanted to know if this will have any effect on my audit letter from NYS as I checked today, and the bill didn't increase but stayed the same. I wanted to know if I need to send my account transcript or any form of document to ensure everything runs smoothly. About 1-2 weeks ago I got a notice of deficiency letter from NYS state of tax department however at that my tax return was not being processed yet. A few days later my account got adjusted and it was talking about a refund in 2-3 weeks. I wanted to know the best action to take at this moment. and if I need to send any documents or transcripts. Thank you in advance.
I’ve filed an extension on turbo tax before, but can’t find a screen to let me file an extension today.

Great, i find this out on April 15th. Is Intuit going to pay late fees for people that purchased Deluxe version and not able to complete their returns?

I believe you mean you deducted a contribution of $850 to your IRA in 2023 in error. In 2024 you made an IRA contribution of the same amount. In 2023 you received a distribution of $850 from your IRA but didn't report it. If so, you have to amend your tax return for 2023 to remove the contribution and enter the distribution. For 2024, you simply report the $850 IRA contribution.
