@mcvitie2    Yep...last year's question below. Though worded differently...the YES answer uses the same box 2a$$ in both years.   A couple of us have asked Moderators to get this fixed, since it is really misleading tens-hundreds? of thousands of Seniors with pensions, 401k/TSPs etc, when box 2a is lower than box 1...no action yet. ____________________________ 2024 software wording....
Thank you for providing the code. We are looking into it.

If you are getting a message regarding disaster forms and you did not file a disaster claim, you can try deleting "Form 8915-F" if the message was related to a "Covid Related Disaster" or "Form 4684" if the message is referring to a "Casualty/Disaster Loss."   To delete this form, you can try the steps listed below.   If you are using TurboTax Online, you can: Go to "Tax Tools" in your left panel of your TurboTax screen, then  Select "Tools" and  Under "Other Helpful Links"  Select "Delete a Form."  This will bring up all of your forms and you can click on "Delete" next to the Form 8915-F (or Form 4684).   If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can try:  Click on the "Forms Icon" on the top right of your screen to bring up  "Forms Mode"  Choose "Form 8915-F" (or Form 4684) from the list of forms in the left panel of your TurboTax screen Use the "Delete Form" option at the bottom of the form to delete the form Select "Yes" to confirm deletion of the form   You can also go back through your TurboTax entries to make sure you did not enter anything that triggered this form.   You can easily get to these screens in the TurboTax program by clicking on "Search" in the top right of your TurboTax screen and typing "Form 1099-R" in the search box if this was a COVID Disaster issue or  Form 4684 if this was a Casualty/Disaster Loss. Then click on the link "Jump to Form 1099-R (or Form 4684)."  Continue through your screens to check your entries.   Click here for "How Do I View and Delete Forms in TurboTax Online?"   Click here for "How do I delete a tax form in TurboTax Desktop?"   Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.

We have tested entries for Form 7203 but are unable to reproduce the experience you have seen. It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file to test this issue further.   If you would be willing to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information, please follow these instructions:    In TurboTax Desktop, open your return and go to Online in the TurboTax header. (On a Mac computer, choose Share or Help.) Choose Send Tax File to Agent. You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click Send on this screen and wait for the Token number to appear. Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you. Please include any States that are part of your return - this is VERY important. We will then be able to see the same experience you are having. If we are able to determine the cause, we'll reply here and provide you with a resolution.
I look forward to your results.   I had been manually changing the Foreign Tax Credit Computation Worksheet Copy 1, not the Form 1116 itself(which I can't find in my forms view anyway)

It is now 2026 and this issue still exists.  This year i selected to have an expert do my taxes because I now have a small business..1st of all she did them in an hour- that was a slight concern for me, 2nd, she told me my refund for state and federal was a certain amount,  but when I stayed the checkout process it was completely different,  when I chatted with her to question this, her response was " I don't work again until Sunday". I continue to check out and selected pay with refund option, I go thru the complete process and then when its time to sign my returns electronically I get the infamous " Hmm..looks like we hit a snag in this section.  I have talked to 4 so experts for 2 days now none being my original tax expert and they have all give the same things to try..I have tried on my personal laptop, my personal Ipad, my personal phone, work Ipad and work phone and still the same error. I have done everything but go purchase new ones!!!   I have filed my taxes with TT since 2019 with the exception of last year 2024, they have all of my information,  but I still can't check out. I feel like there will soon be another class action suit against them.

@maripat-hinders    Mine did.....but if you are using a different "Online" account than you did last year, those charities probably didn't transfer.....nor would they if you were in the correct account...but did a clear and start-over without the transfer of last year's forms.   Similar for desktop...if you start a 2025 file without transferring last year's tax file...then there's nothing there form the prior year in the new file.
I am still finding scholarship or other income from box 3 being unearned, but either way, if he is claimed can or is by the parent the standard deduction becomes only about 5k. Thanks.

This a change from what was used as Q&A's from previous years' editions of TT for line 2a on OPM's 1099's.  Your suggestion mirrors what was used and what still applies - all receivers know and should only have to know that the amount reported as 2a is what the OPM considers the taxable amount.  Yes, I could mine the tax regs to find out how they calculate it (general or simplified methods) - but this has been standard for years and if the tax regs have changed - TT should alert us under the now blank "Learn More" options.   Not a tax expert - only a user of TT for 20 years

When I updated from Turbo Tax 2023 to Turbo Tax 2024 all my file tax files were brought into 2024.     Now I have updated from Turbo Tax 2024 to Turbo Tax 2025 and it seems my only option is to individually bring my old files into the 2025 version?  If this correct?  Am I doing something wrong?  Thanks.

Assuming your child is residing on-campus and on a school meal plan, look at the receipt or statement from the school. See if room and board is included in the billing statement. If the total of what you paid matches the 1099-T then room and board is included. Also, if your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI - believe it is line 11 on 1040) is 180K or higher you are not eligible for AOC and will not get any credits.    AOC - American Opportunity Credit.

My employer made pre-tax contributions to my HSA in 2025 of $1020.  I found out I am ineligible to make this contribution because I signed up for Medicare.   I entered form 1099-SA correctly and chose distribution code 2 (excess contributions) and selected the "yes" box to the question "Tell us if your excess HSA/MSA contribution was made by your employer and deducted from the wages in box 1 of your W2".  However, Turbo Tax shows this amount as "Tax-free employers contributions".  I'm sure that is incorrect as this amount should be added to my income as "Additional income from schedule 1, line 10" on line 8 of Form 1040.  Is this a software error?
Georgia Form 700 will be made available on 2/22/26. The availability of all other forms and schedules related to this return can be confirmed via the provided link.   @dmtyler
