If he is not a dependent then he should not be listed on your return at all---you need to go to MY INFO and delete him.   But, if you already e-filed and used his SSN on your tax return, he cannot e-file.  He will have to print, sign and mail his own return.  Or he can try to get an IP Pin and try to e-file.  Waiting for your amended return to be processed will not help him at all.     GET IP pin in order to e-file if your dependent’s SSN was claimed on another return   https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-takes-steps-to-help-prevent-refund-delays-by-accepting-duplicate-dependent-returns-with-an-ip-pin-for-2025-filing-season-taxpayers-encouraged-to-sign-up-soon-for-ip-pin-online-account     https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Just ignore the emails the same way you ignore any other spam emails, or try unsubscribing.   Unsubscribe from TT emails https://data-privacy.app.intuit.com/preferences

Where do I show that we don't have to file the state taxes because we don't have any taken out since we are native americans living on our reservation?
He is having issues filing even after my amended return was accepted. What else do I need to do in order for him to file?
If the interview told me to transfer in prior year data, and how to do it, I would have done so. What is the easiest way to tell ?

It’s bullshhhhiiiittt that’s why I made this. To see if other people were getting scammed out of their very hard earned underpaid money. I’m a preschool teacher and they took 6% of all my earnings for the year. Absolutely disgusting company that everyone should abort immediately

It is possible that you have been a household employee---depending on how much you were paid and if all of the work was done in the people's home.   If you have been a household employee---the employer was supposed to issue a W-2 to you and withhold Social Security and Medicare.   So...before you comply with their request--determine if you were a household employee--maybe they are the ones who need to change what they did about the way you were paid.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/considered-household-employee/L8WWhbPfO_US_en_US?uid=lrtjhxqc     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-payments/pay-taxes-pay-household-employee/L9eZxdOGo_US_en_US?uid=m4mvnflf

@bindirick   If you put down you were a dependent and you don't qualify as a dependent it can effect several things on your return.  One major thing is you might get the full Standard Deduction (if it was less)  which can reduce your taxable income, so you would owe less tax.     But just because they didn't claim you, you still might qualify as their dependent.    When do I have to answer YES to being claimed as a Dependent? https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/answer-yes-claimed-dependent/L2a52anul_US_en_US?uid=lv1tyfep   See if you qualify as a dependent.   IRS Publication 501 starting on page 11 Dependents https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p501.pdf
