It doesn't appear as though there are any changes to the Georgia (GA) return in relationship to the passive activity losses (PALs). Georgia has no specific passive activity loss rules. Therefore, whatever is recognized federally would be recognized for Georgia purposed based upon Georgia’s starting with the federal AGI. There is no Georgia equivalent form to the federal form 8582. You may create a separate individually-designed schedule to show the accumulation of passive activity losses and attach it to the Georgia return. The Department of Revenue anticipates revising future tax forms and schedules within such forms to specify how passive activity losses may be shown to property calculate Georgia taxable income.  GA Rules on IRS Federal Tax Changes @plawlor78

You received an email that we cannot see that tells you why your tax return was rejected.   Some rejected returns can be fixed and re-filed.  Some have “un-fixable” reasons for the rejection and have to be mailed instead.    What is the rejection code or rejection message?     If it was rejected for AGI—-your 2023 AGI might not be in the IRS system if you filed late.   Try using zero instead.   If filing with zero is rejected then file again but select the option that you did not file last year.  The IRS does not see that question and it will allow you to e-file with no AGI question.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/where-do-i-correct-my-agi-in-turbotax-online/00/26311   If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.
I am trying to get back to the 1099 R and Turbo will not let me back into the Federal Return.  Do I need to log out and edit that way? I am not technically inclined.
You have to enter the new asset for the new property and the Like-Kind Exchange questions will be in that section. @joeljennissen

There are several different ways to prepare W2 and 1099 forms depending on which version you have.  Either the Online Premium version or the Desktop Home & Business program.  If you don’t have one of those versions or you don’t use Turbo Tax I think you can still use the Quick Employer Forms and pay for them.   Go to Quick Employer Forms Quick Employer Forms   In the Online Premium version you use the Quick Employer Forms.  The forms are efiled to the IRS and you print and mail them to your contractors and employees.  Start an Online return here, https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/   Quick Employer Forms FAQs https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/faq.htm   In the Mac Home & Business Desktop version you use the Quick Employer Forms.  The forms are efiled to the IRS and you print and mail them to your contractors and employees.  At the bottom of the Welcome to Turbo Tax screen it should say Create 1099s for Contractors and W2s for Employees.   In the Windows Home & Business Desktop program or the separate Business program you can prepare W2 & 1099 2 ways, on your computer using the built in W2/1099 Reporter or online using the Quick Employer Forms. If you do them on your computer you have to mail the forms to the IRS yourself.

So you have been filing incorrect tax returns for years----and you are not asking what you should be doing to fix that?   If you were legally married, your filing choices were married filing jointly or married filing separately.  Filing single was not a legal option.   You can amend for at least the last three years to fix the past few years and change to either joint or married filing separately.   For your next tax return---a spouse can never be claimed as a dependent.   It is better to file a joint return to get the married filing jointly higher standard deduction.  For 2025 that amount will be $30,000 + $1600 for each spouse 65 or older or legally blind.       If you were legally married at the end of 2024 your filing choices are married filing jointly or married filing separately.   Married Filing Jointly is usually better, even if one spouse had little or no income. When you file a joint return, you and your spouse will get the married filing jointly standard deduction of $29,200 (+ $1550 for each spouse 65 or older)  for 2024. You are eligible for more credits including education credits, earned income credit, child and dependent care credit, and a larger income limit to receive the child tax credit.    If you choose to file married filing separately, both spouses have to file the same way—either you both itemize or you both use standard deduction. Your tax rate will be higher than on a joint return.    Some of the special rules for filing separately include: you cannot get earned income credit, education credits, adoption credits, or deductions for student loan interest. A higher percent of your Social Security benefits may be taxable. Your limit for SALT (state and local taxes and sales tax) will be only $5000 per spouse. In many cases you will not be able to take the child and dependent care credit. The amount you can contribute to a retirement account will be affected. If you live in a community property state, you will be required to provide additional information regarding your spouse’s income. ( Community property states:  AZ, CA, ID, LA, NV, NM, TX, WA, WI)    If  you are using online TurboTax to prepare your returns, you will need to prepare two separate returns and pay twice since with online, you get one return per fee.     https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/marriage/should-you-and-your-spouse-file-taxes-jointly-or-separately/L7gyjnqyM?srsltid=AfmBOopGqCNexowW0pYgvsf7ycIkrx4VjO_63UXv6vSnfu3UEGQiKQTh   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/income/getting-married-mean-taxes/L2RgmagpE_US_en_US?uid=m69on7t0     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/married-filing-separately-community-property/L11CeLUMs_US_en_US?uid=m69ousyh       See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a tax return -   CURRENT YEAR https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-federal-tax-return-current-year/L7eS6o1qh_US_en_US?uid=lfunevhk   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=m76mq6z2    Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/Filing/Individuals/Amended-Returns-(Form-1040-X)/Wheres-My-Amended-Return-1

No, your spouse can never claim you as a dependent.  Your options are Married Filing Jointly (MFJ) or Married Filing Separately (MFS). If you file separately and if you live in a community property state, there are rules about allocating income that you must adhere to.   You get more room for tax breaks when you file MFJ and lower tax rates.   For additional information, review the TurboTax articles Should You and Your Spouse File Jointly or Separately? and  Married Filing Separately in community property states
You would be eligible for the exclusion, so None of the above (select for deferred compensation 457 plans) is the better choice.

Yes. Based on the IRS instructions for Form 1041, Grantor-type trusts should only fill in the entity information and not report dollar amounts directly on the form itself. Instead, those amounts should be included in an attachment.    Schedule H should be included with the informational 1041, along with a payment voucher and check for the household employment taxes. You should not enter the tax amount on Schedule G, Part I, line 7 or carry it forward to line 2.   1041 Instructions

IRS made a change to a previous return (Received notice CP24). I responded, disagreeing with the change, and then followed up multiple times in order to resolve. I've gotten nowhere, as every rep I've spoken with can't explain or justify the change. I assume filing some type of more formal appeal is the next step. What is the process?
Yes.  This falls under repairs and maintenance.   @ratrod94
