Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing of your return or the release of your refund.   Here are a couple FAQs to track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?   It might be easiest to set up an account with the IRS.   IRS Individual Online Account   Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return. Just want to talk someone live and directly so I can get a clear picture of what’s going on with my taxes. Other that I’m lost because the irs automated system doesn’t help with anything I really need
Can you please clarify your question?

The CPA handling my late mother's trust fund disbursements to myself, spouse, and children filed a K-1 and for whatever reason I filed it also not knowing that he had done so.  I received his paperwork in the mail two days before tax day and so I field an extension in order to file an amendment through turbo tax but now I need to reverse all that because I wasn't even supposed to file that.  The CPA in California had already done that.  How do I go about correcting this.

On the W4 you can write "Exempt" under line 4c and they will not take any taxes out for the federal taxes due.  Be warned that if you owe money at the end of the year because of this there may be penalties and interest added to your tax return.   On the IT-2104 you can't claim an exemption.  You have to file an IT-2104-E for that.  In order to file that you have to certify that you will not owe any taxes to New York for the year.  Again, claiming an exemption and then owing will result in penalties and interest being added by New York.   @Nancyc222

The answer depends on what needs to be changed with the Schedule D.  If the changes would affect any losses that were carried into your 2024 tax return or any losses that are carried forward to 2025, then you do need to file the amended return to make sure those numbers are correct.     @Robtri2
I have no idea, but you may find an answer in the privacy center. Here is a link to the Intuit Privacy Center: https://www.intuit.com/privacy/

We advise confirming that all information has been entered accurately. We advise checking the QC Detailed Summary to make sure. Depending on how much tax was taken out of EI, you might also need to pay QPIP and other fees. The tax at the source may also have an impact; some people's amounts are not taxed at all. That could be a reason as well.    If you think there is too much discrepancy, we suggest contacting Revenu Québec.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Same here. When I call they say it is still processing. But their online system says it should only take 3 weeks if you e-file. So what the heck is going on?

As you walk through the K-1 entries in TurboTax, you will come to a question asking if you materially participated.  Say no. After that question, Is this an oil or gas property will be asked?  Say yes IF your liability is not limited.  If your liability IS limited, you do not qualify as an active participant and it will be taxed as a passive activity.

It seems some checks are not being cashed by certain financial institutions because they exceed the limits in place by that particular company.  In some situations, these checks are being referred to as fraudulent; however, they are not.  Make sure the name on your check matches the name on your bank account. Try to go to your local bank to open an account so you can deposit the check.  Some banks will allow you to open an account but will retain a small portion of the deposit until the check clears.  Another option is to find a bank that can cash large checks without any restrictions.   If the bank has concerns with the validity of the check, they can contact Intuit directly at 1-800-335-9612.   A dedicated team is available for verification purposes.  Also, if the check is uncashed after 90 days, the check will be returned to the IRS.  The taxpayer can then work with the IRS to receive their tax return.   Please call Intuit directly at 800-335-9612.   A dedicated team is handling this.
Thanks Dawn. I reviewed my TT fees and the missing $3k is not one of them. I reviewed my return on the IRS site and my missing $3k was not an adjustment. Any other ideas?
