Totally agree.  Form T936 is not populating Line 68140 with the information from the T3 slip dialogue.  I believe this would work if it would do that, and it should automatically.  I have a $3K+ total for all my T3 Box 21s and this figure is not populating Line 68140 on T936.   Have tried filing a few times now (on April 16 at midnight) using the suggestions provided by TT.  They make no difference.  TT should fix this before we all run out of Netfile attempts.

you cannot import the PDF composite. rather you have to go the long route. from the file menu select import from financial institution, enter schwab and select it, log into your schwab account, agree to the conditions, follow the additional instructions and select what to import. 1099-int, 1099-div 1099-B 1099-misc, 1099-R can be selected individually.     once imported it's your responsibility to see that everything is okay. the 1099-MISC presents the most problems because without more info Turbotax may not handle it correctly. another shortcoming is that each trade gets enter on the 8949. there does not appear to be a way to import into schedule d lines 1a and 8a or even totals by type

I bought treasury bills on the secondary market for a discount. I know for federal taxes this is interest income. On the state taxes in CA, is the entire discount say $2,000 tax exempt or do I have to only take the % of this discount based on the days I owned the bill divided by the total days of this bill from issue date to maturity?

When I entered the first 5 digits of the 6-digit PIN, my return was rejected. So, how do I enter the 6 digit IRS PIN? You tried to enter it in the wrong place.  The 6-digit IP PIN is entered in a completely different section of TurboTax.    Here's the navigation:   If using Online TurboTax, go to the left column menu. Federal tab (or the PERSONAL tab in Home and Business desktop) Then select subtab Other Tax Situations Then on next screen scroll down to Other Return Info Expand that topic and choose Identity Protection PIN.   When efiling you will still need to enter a different kind of PIN in the FILE process--a 5-digit PIN on the Signature page to "sign" your return. It's on a signature screen with today's date and your birth date. Like it says there, those 5 digits can be any 5 digits of your choosing (except can't be all zeros.)
It's now showing federal return accepted, state return is still pending.
Okay I have my ECN number now what do i do with it?
what's the rejection code or message?
What I’m wondering is, if the my tax was never submitted, then what happened to the payment I made through this company? As I mentioned, I paid the T1 tax directly on this website.
note that even with multiple computers the e-filing limit is 5 per preparer not per computer

No One of Turbotax's shortcomings is no NOL calculation.    except for a C-corp and possibly for state business income tax returns, a business does not have an NOL. rather the k-1 (partnership or S-corp) transfers the loss to an individual's return and it's at the individual level that an NOL is determined.  You do not complete the form for the business. only for the individual taxpayer. As a matter of fact, looking at desktop deluxe, it does not provide for the form. if you must complete it, you have several options   omit it to e-file then paper file an amended return once accepted or mail your return and attach the form. a manual form cannot be attached to the Turbotax e-file

Hello everyone:    I wish to add non-system computer software to class 12. Software is subject to the half-year rule (even under $500 as far as I can tell). Small tools under $500 are not subject to half-year rule. As my software purchase is under $500 it appears that TurboTax automatically assumes the CCA addition in class 12 is not subject to the half-year rule. How do I fix this behaviour in TurboTax and correctly include the half-year rule for computer software in class 12?   thank you
@DaveF1006, I'm a nonresident of Oregon. Where and how do I enter Oregon carryforward losses from last year?

You mentioned that TT will not allow you to efile if you've made any overrides on your return.  On my 2024 return I was faced with the same dilema where to report agency interest on my Oregon return.  I opted to do an override and post it on OR-ASC Section B subtractions, Code 315.  The override did not prevent me from e-filing, which I was able to do successfully yesterday.  I realize your post is 5 years old so I'm guessing that TT must have modified their software to allow overrides to be e-filed.     I do have a concern:  My broker (Schwab) includes agency interest in box 1 and I'm expecting Oregon Dept. of Revenue to question my return because it isn't reported separately on my federal return.  Agency bonds are a huge market, it is mind boggling that brokers are not required to report agency income separately on a 1099-INT.  I'll be on the phone tomorrow with the Schwab Tax Dept demanding an explanation and expecting to be brushed off lol.
