Hi , I worked at the same job in NJ for all of 2024. I lived in NYC for first 200 days or .55% of the year of 2024. Then I moved to NJ. In my W2 Box has an amount $140000 Box 14 has a row 'NY State Wages' $100,000 Boxes 15-16 have 2 rows , 1 for NY, 1 for NJ like" Box 15 Box 16 NJ $145000 NY $14000 For my NY return, What is the correct amount of total income that I should attribute to NY? 140,000 * 0.55? or the $100,000 reported in Box 14? For the NJ return , what is the correct amount of total income hat I should attribute to NJ? $145,000 * 0.45 ? or $145,000 - $100,000 reported in Box 14? Also, overall in this situation for NJ, do I need a NJ part time resident return AND a NJ nonresident return ? It seems turbotax does not allow e-filing in this case? Thanks,

I turned off the computer's antivirus protection, and it still doesn't work. I am able to sign in to Charles Schwab and get the "Success! We've got your tax information. You can return to Turbo Tax" message, but when I go back to Turbo Tax the download still isn't there. Any other ideas? Would love to get this resolved so I don't have to enter manually as there is much to enter this year, but will do it if I have to.

Can I apply a 2019 Disallowed Passive Loss return (Schedule E carryover worksheet from previous years) as an allowed NOL in my 2024 return (carryover worksheet line 14a)? I had forgotten about it and read it may be possible to apply previous losses to later years, but the terms “Disallowed” and “allowed” have me thinking I cannot apply it.

If you are using TurboTax desktop, this usually happens when an update is needed. Update your software, and the Do Not File should go away.

There should be some sort of explaination.
Here's how you can fix it:
Sign in to your account and select the Fix my return button. Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.
Note: Not all rejections will have explicit guides to fix the information. You’ll need to navigate to the program area to address the cause of the rejection.
Time-saving Tip: If what you originally entered is correct, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, a dependent that's already been claimed, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return. This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
Additional reject instruction here.

I filed for an extension on my federal taxes already. Or can Turbo Tax go ahead and file my State taxes. I don't owe anything on either.

You can delete this 1099-R= it is not taxable or needs to be reported; it is for informational purposes only. Box 5. Generally, this shows the employee’s investment in the contract (after-tax contributions), if any, recovered tax free this year; the portion that’s your basis in a designated Roth account; the part of premiums paid on commercial annuities or insurance contracts recovered tax free; the nontaxable part of a charitable gift annuity; or the investment in a life insurance contract reportable under section 6050Y. This box doesn’t show any IRA contributions. If the amount shown is your basis in a designated Roth account, the year you first made contributions to that account may be entered in box 11.
