The IRS uses your prior year AGI to combat fraud. Make sure you take into account the information below.   You can find your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) by: Looking at line 11 on page 1 of your 2024 Form 1040 Requesting a transcript of your 2024 tax return from the IRS. You can request your transcript online at the following link: Get Transcript Please click on this TurboTax article for more information.    Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number.  If you:  Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0. Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A). Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less. Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2024 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter  0  for one of you).   Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.    This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.
Please explain.  Are you a US Citizen?  Who is saying you can't get your refund?  Is this a federal refund?

There are somewhat different additional requirements when the cruise is not for a convention. For non-convention business cruise travel, the IRS limits deductions to twice the highest federal per diem rate allowable at the time of travel.    Publication 463 covers travel, gift and car expenses in general. The guidance it includes on cruise ships is in the Luxury Water Travel section as well as the Conventions section.    Key limits and rules for luxury water travel include:   Luxury Water Limit: The deduction is capped at twice the maximum federal per diem rate for US travel. Specific 2025 caps vary by month, such as $1,150/day in Q1, $766/day in summer, and $868/day in Nov/Dec. 50% Meal Rule: Separately stated meals and entertainment are capped at 50% deduction. Business Purpose Requirement: The cruise must be directly related to active business, such as visiting clients or conducting business activities on board (not for a seminar/convention). Documentation: You must prove the business necessity and maintain records of the time spent on business.   Luxury Water Travel   If you travel by ocean liner, cruise ship, or other form of luxury water transportation for business purposes, there is a daily limit on the amount you can deduct. The limit is twice the highest federal per diem rate allowable at the time of your travel. (Generally, the federal per diem is the amount paid to federal government employees for daily living expenses when they travel away from home within the United States for business purposes.)   Meals and entertainment. If your expenses for luxury water travel include separately stated amounts for meals or entertainment, those amounts are subject to the 50% limit on non-entertainment-related meals and entertainment before you apply the daily limit. For a discussion of the 50% limit, see chapter 2.   Exceptions   The daily limit on luxury water travel doesn’t apply to expenses you have to attend a convention, seminar, or meeting on board a cruise ship. See Cruise Ships, later, under Conventions.   @Jwl27

I encountered an interesting situation when I was checking my 2025 tax return that was prepared by a CPA with TurboTax. For Schedule 1116 Line 3a TurboTax included medical expenses and real estate taxes from Schedule A. My CPA had also included state sales tax. I am fairly certain that for Schedule A either state sales tax or real estate taxes can be deducted, but can both be included for 1116?

Pending means that your e-filed tax return is on its way and the IRS or your state hasn't accepted it yet. Your tax return can be in the pending status for up to 48 hours before being accepted or rejected.   For more information, refer to the TurboTax help article What does Pending mean?   It's not unusual for state returns to remain in pending status several days after a federal return has been accepted. The pending status means that your state return hasn't been accepted or rejected yet.    Please see the TurboTax article Why is my state e-file still pending?

Virginia state taxes, when scheduled via TurboTax, are generally withdrawn on the specific date you chose during filing, if your tax return was accepted. Processing can take a few extra business days.

You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
Thank you!   If there is something I can do to try to help debug this problem, please let me know.  I'm willing to try stuff.

Thanks for your response.  After the first time it filed my amended return with Zero Due, and it was rejected by Illinois, I did in fact go back and change the amount due in Forms line 31.  I e-filed it again, and AGAIN, turbo tax changed the amount due to zero.   And of course it was also rejected by Illinois because it said I previously filed and was accepted by IL.  I'm assuming it was rejected because the amended return showed zero due.  so there that issue also where I can't even get a return accepted by IL.  But i guess that's good since the return where zero due is incorrect anyway.   I wish Turbo Tax would respond here and figure out why the software is changing my return from $51 due to zero due.
I’ve received the loan information for my federal Payments but not my state taxes
