for Box 14 there is no standard text or abbreviation. So "other" should be ok unless it's one of the items listed in the drop-down

Thank you for your help. I have dual citizenship. I'm trying to file form 2555 and form 1116. As far as I understand, that won't be doable on the free version of TurboTax. Thanks!

Sorry. The advance must be offered to you if you qualify, and you only get the money after your return is accepted. The IRS won't open e-filing until 1/26

I have entered the accrued interest as an adjustment on a 1099-INT form but Turbo Tax does not report this as a deduction or adjustment to interest paid?

W11 is required for any of Turbotax's 2025 apps, including desktop individual. Copy the 2024 file (not the PDF so you still have a copy on the W10 computer) to a thumb drive or maybe even email it to yourself (this won't work if the file is too large). On the W11 computer download from e-mail or if you used a thumb drive copy or cut and paste it to your W11 desktop. Just makes it easier to find. When you start the 2025 you may have to browse to the desktop for the app to see the 2024 file. There may be other methods available to transfer the file, but this depends on your specific setup and what you are able to do.

It's entered on the 1099-INT (in the adjustment section), but can not exceed the interest income received on that bond during the same tax year. Any excess is carried forward. Turbotax does not do this correctly if your 1099-INT reports interest income from multiple sources. You would have to enter the proper amount, and then keep a record of any carryforward amount. Even if you were to enter the interest on this bond on a separate 1099-INT, the adjustment can't exceed the interest income. You would still need to keep track of any amount you could not deduct.
with online you can't see the schedule B until the fees are paid. the gross interest income should show up the a subtotal and thn the deduction for accrued interest. make sure you enter the accrued interest amount as a positive number
the screen may only show what's reported on line 1 of the 1099 not the net.
after entering line 1 you should see a screen where - "I need to adjust this amount. check it and then continue". On the following screen you'll enter the adjustment amount and use the drop-down to select the reason

For organ donations, Federal tax benefits must be claimed through an itemized deduction for medical expenses. The IRS does not permit a deduction for the value of the donated organ, treating the donation as a gift of time and service.
Taxpayers can include unreimbursed expenses related to organ donation as medical expenses on Schedule A (Form 1040), Itemized Deductions. Only the amount of total medical expenses that exceeds 7.5% of the taxpayer’s AGI is deductible. Then this amount, plus other itemized deductions, must exceed your standard deduction to be of benefit.
Direct medical costs, such as laboratory tests, x-rays, hospital stays, and follow-up care that are not covered by insurance, are includible. Travel and lodging expenses(subject to tax limits) necessary to obtain medical care related to the donation are also deductible. This includes costs for airfare, train tickets, and the operation of a personal vehicle.
Crucially, some significant financial burdens are explicitly not eligible for the federal medical expense deduction. Lost wages resulting from time off work for the donation, recovery, or testing cannot be included. Similarly, non-medical expenses like child care, elder care, or general living expenses while recovering at home are considered personal expenses and are non-deductible under federal law.
state alws may vary.

TurboTax does not have your W-2. W-2’s come from employers. There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s. If your employer is partnered with TurboTax to allow the W-2 data to be imported into the software you can do that---but you need the actual W-2 so that you can enter the EIN and the amount from box 1 to import the other data from the W-2---which just saves you the little bit of keying in of the other information.
Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts. Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer. You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.
ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.
Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2.
After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.
W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it. Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.

And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2! TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU. TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it. It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.
