Do you still have 2024 installed? Try opening 2024 program and see if you can get your 2024 return to show up in it. Go to FILE - OPEN. And see if that is the right one. In the 2024 program do a File-Save AS or Duplicate and give it a easy name you can find or search for. And note where it saves it or select where to save it so you can find it again. The file will end in .tax2024. Then close the 2024 program. Then start a new 2025 return and transfer from the 2024 file.

As noted above by VolvoGirl, there are many factors involved to determine what you owe for federal taxes, or if you owe more federal taxes than you expected.   These include the following: Additional Income:  Did you have any new sources of income?  You made more money at your job, such as overtime. If you work multiple jobs, you may have to change your withholding. Did someone in your household start working or change jobs? The TurboTax W-4 Withholding Calculator is a free tool to help you find the right withholding.    Less Deductions: Did you donate less to charity? Did you not make an IRA contribution? Did you move to another state? Did you have less medical expense deductions or less mortgage interest?   Fewer Credits: If your income has increased, your Earned Income Credit may have gone down. Did you have education credits that have gone down or ended? Did your Child and Dependent Care credit change? You had more income or your children are older. Was your Child Tax Credit affected by your income or the age of your children?   Filing Status: Changing your filing status has a big impact on your taxes. If you have changed your filing status from married filing jointly to married filing separately it will have a big impact on what you owe.   If you experienced any of these changes during the tax year it would have impacted what you owe.   Click here for additional information on why you may owe more taxes.   Click here for more detailed information on why you owe federal tax.

Very poor showing of Intuit this year.  Should have made it clear "in advance" that TurboTax was not fully functional.  I needed to resort to doing my taxes manually because of a timing issue.  Intuit should provide some credit for this situation.  I will no longer be a loyal customer after having used TurboTax for years.
Thanks, can I report my mom's 1095-A on my return while I have one for myself as well?  She has no income. I think dependent's 1095-A should goes her return.

If you consider your activity a hobby you must report the entire income and are not allowed any expenses. If you are a business with a profit motive you can deduct all business expenses including cost of the items. You will pay self employment tax on your profit of about 15.3 percent as well as income tax.

We cannot see your screen, your return or your account.  Have you entered ALL of your 2025 information?  All your income, etc.?  Many tax documents that you need do not arrive until late January or even February, so maybe you do not have it all there yet.   There are a lot of variables that affect your refund or tax due including how much you earned, how much tax you had withheld, your filing status, the number of dependents you claim, your deductions and credits, etc.  You may have lost Earned Income Credit or the Child Tax Credit— did a child turn 17?  If you received the EIC last year, remember that changes in the amount you earn have a big effect on the amount of EIC you can get. (Sometimes earning more money means less EIC)  Are you 65 or older ?  If so, your standard deduction is higher. Everyone has a higher standard deduction now so it is harder to use itemized deductions.   And of course, always check your own data entries, looking for errors such as misplaced decimals or extra zeros.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refund-go-compared-last-year/L97JmhUbi_US_en_US?uid=ld9ijm41   Print out 2024  and 2025  and compare them side by side to see what is different.    https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/tax-payments/video-why-would-i-owe-federal-taxes/L3VXudPiN

Hello All This issue is all over the place in reditt and still no explanation on this issue from the company. I have been using TT for many years but this is a lemon this year. Calling Costco for the return.   BTW even if I use the form mode to enter, when everything is done, when the analysis is complete there is no way to proceed further as the software crashes on that stage as well and no "forms mode" trick at that time.    What a nightmare and waste of time.

Xmasbaby0 says an update will be out 1/21 that includes retirement income. I’m guessing charitable contributions are linked to that as well. I am just guessing. I wish TurboTax had notified users proactively exactly why the delay has occurred and what they’re doing about it. Silence created uncertainty and doubt.
