I have found a solution that works for me. You can go into Forms, and on left select "People wks (student)". Then scroll down to Part IV Education Expenses. I manually entered Room and Board Now I can go back to the 1099Q associated with that student and the worksheet is has done the tax/penalty calculation. Now, don't get me wrong this took some time to figure out for me as an engineer I could not let it go 😀. I still expect the product we pay for to have the interview prompt as they have done in the past. v/r

I agree, rlloyd123. This is very disconcerting. And very disappointing.

If you already e-filed it is too late to seek the advance.

There is not a rent deduction or credit on your Federal return. If your state has anything for renters you will be prompted to enter your rent info when you complete your state return. As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.

If your W-2 doesn't have any info for overtime, you will compute it after the W-2 input.
After you input your W-2, continue through the interview, and you will have a list of uncommon situations to choose from- overtime is one of them. Check the box.
Then, follow these steps:
1. On the screen "Let's see if your overtime qualifies as tax-free," either select "Help me calculate my eligible overtime" or "No help needed—I know what to enter."
2. No matter which option you selected in Step 1, the next screen will ask if you were or were not an exempt employee. Note that you must be non-exempt in order to be eligible for the overtime deduction.
3. Next, if you chose that you know what to enter, you will be asked to enter your deductible overtime from your employer, you can continue on, and TurboTax will compute the deduction, if you are eligible. If you chose that you needed help, you will be asked what info you have about the overtime and will be guided through the computation. Since your overtime was not on your W-2, you may have a letter from your employer, and if not, it is highly recommended to obtain and save your last paystub of the year.
The last paystub of the year is important to help you compute this, because only the overtime (the extra "half" in time-and-a-half is deductible.

Google states that the IRS has not made a determination yet on how the PCTC will be treated. Does this mean we just wait until they do before we file?

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

It looks like form DR 1307 for the State of Colorado is not available again for the 2025 tax year. Am I missing something? What are my options if I want to use this software to do my state taxes?
