Depending on the details here, this may be incorrect. From my research, a former employer that is no longer your employer would be reporting this as 1099-MISC. If you are no longer an employee of the entity paying you the retention bonus and they are not receiving any goods and services from you, I believe this is a 1099-MISC. How would this bonus be paid on a W2 if you're not receiving a W2 from that entity anymore? Are they simply paying you to not quit the new employer? Curious any further opinions on this.

Did you click that big orange button that said “Transmit my return now?” If you did that, you cannot do anything to fix it yet. You have to wait for the email that tells you if your return was accepted or rejected.
Since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject returns until January 26, you are going to be waiting in “pending” for awhile. Your return is sitting on a server, where you cannot fix it or get it back.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner. The IRS does not allow you to take it back.
If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.” The changes will go nowhere.
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally. You will need to use a form called a 1040X.
Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
The Form 1040X you need becomes available in late February, But wait until your return has been processed.

There are two types of dependents, "Qualifying Children"(QC) and Other ("Qualifying Relative" in IRS parlance even though they don't have to actually be related). There is no income limit for a QC but there is an age limit (23 or under), student status, a relationship test and residence test. Only a QC qualifies a taxpayer for the Earned Income Credit. They are interrelated but the rules are different for each.
The support test is different for each type. The support test, for a QC, is only that the child didn't provide more than half his own support. The support test for a Qualifying Relative is that the taxpayer provided more than half the relative's support.
A stepchild is the same as a child for tax purposes. But, the fact that he is now 24 means he can no longer be a QC. That means he now has to meet the income test (support, alone, is not enough).
A person can still be a Qualifying relative dependent, if not a Qualifying Child, if he meets the 6 tests for claiming a dependent:
Closely Related OR live with the taxpayer ALL year
His/her gross taxable income for the year must be less than $5200 (2025) ($5050 for 2024). Any taxable scholarship counts as income for this test (but not tax free scholarship).
The taxpayer must have provided more than 1/2 his support. Tax free scholarships are ignored for the support test, but student loans, solely in the student's name, are support not provided by you.
In either case:
He must be a US citizen or resident of the US, Canada or Mexico
He must not file a joint return with his spouse or be claiming a dependent of his own
He must not be the qualifying child of another taxpayer

Since he is older than age 23 he is no longer eligible to be claimed as a dependent under the Qualifying Child rules.
If your son has total income in 2025 of $5,200 or more then no one can claim him as a dependent under the Qualifying Relative rules.
To be a Qualifying Relative -
1. The person cannot be your qualifying child or the qualifying child of any other taxpayer. A child is not the qualifying child of any other taxpayer if the child's parent (or any other person for whom the child is defined as a qualifying child) is not required to file an income tax return or files an income tax return only to get a refund on income tax withheld. 2. The person either (a) must be related to you or (b) must live with you all year as a member of your household. 3. The person's gross income for the year must be less than $5,200 (social security does not count) in 2025 4. You must provide more than half of the person's total support for the year. 5. The person must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S., Canada, or Mexico resident for some part of the year. 6. The person must not file a joint return with their spouse with the following exception - You can claim a person as a dependent who files a joint return if that person and that person’s spouse file the joint return only to claim a refund of income tax withheld or estimated tax paid.

To check if you signed up for the TurboTax Refund Advance, you can look in a few specific places in your account or your email.
Check Your TurboTax Order Details
On the Tax Home page, scroll down to the section for "Your tax returns & documents."
Select View Order Details.
Look for "Refund Advance" or "Credit Karma Money" listed under your payment and refund methods.
If it’s not there, you likely selected a standard direct deposit or a different refund option.
Look for Confirmation Emails
If you applied, you should have received automated emails from TurboTax and its partners.
From TurboTax: Search for an email confirming your "Refund Selection."
From Credit Karma: If you were approved, Credit Karma sends an email when the funds are deposited into your Credit Karma Money Spend account.
From WebBank: If your application was denied, you will receive an email from WebBank (the lender) explaining the reason for the decline.
Check Your Credit Karma Money Account
Because the Refund Advance is deposited into a Credit Karma Money™ Spend account, checking that account is the fastest way to see if the loan was processed.
Log in to your Credit Karma account.
Navigate to the Money tab.
If you see a pending or completed deposit for a portion of your refund (typically between $250 and $4,000) shortly after the IRS accepted your return, that is your Refund Advance.
Review Your Tax Return Summary
You can also find clues on your actual tax forms:
Open your 2025 return in TurboTax
Go to the Tax Tools menu on the left
Select Print Center
View your Federal Information Worksheet
Look at the "Direct Deposit" section
If you signed up for the advance, the bank account listed will be the MVB Bank account associated with Credit Karma, rather than your personal bank account.

Sorry, I read your question as with, not without the desktop software so I didn't include those instruction.
Here's how to get all the forms and schedules in TurboTax Online.
TurboTax Online:
Sign in to your TurboTax Account.
Scroll down to the "Your tax returns & documents" section.
Select the specific tax year you need (e.g., 2024).
Click "Add a State" (you aren't actually adding one, but this "unlocks" the return so you can access the Print Center).
In the left-hand menu, select Tax Tools > Print Center.
Select Print, save or preview this year's return.
The Key Step: Look for a checkbox or dropdown that says "Include government and TurboTax worksheets" or "All forms."
Click View/Print to generate the full PDF, which will now include every schedule (like Schedule C, D, or E) and the internal worksheets.
