Social Security is not SSI. SSI is Supplemental Security Income, not Social Security. It's a different program. Form SSA-1099 or SSA-1099-SM is for Social Security, not SSI. You don't get a form for SSI because you do not report SSI on your tax return.

I file 10 individual returns , 5 allowed per license. I purchase both the "Home and Business" and the "Deluxe" Individual versions. In the past I used two separate computers for this, with different Intuit accounts. I also purchase a Business version to file an 1120S. Since 2025 desktop is not supporting Windows 10, I purchased a new computer with Windows 11. I called TurboTax before I bought the new computer and was told I could load two Individual versions on the same new computer with Windows 11 as long as they were not the same version. For instance, you can't download two "Deluxe" versions. I have uploaded "Home and Business", and it will not allow me to upload "Deluxe". Why, when I was told verbally by TurboTax that you could?

TurboTax updates and state software for 2011 are no longer available. You will not be able to get the 2011 program to run.
You could try TaxPrinter. You send them your .tax2011 file and they send you back a PDF of the tax return, which you can then print with Acrobat Reader. TaxPrinter has no connection with TurboTax. I have never used TaxPrinter, so I cannot make a recommendation. I'm just making you aware of it.

You might be answering something incorrectly in MY INFO. Go back through the interview questions for each child in MY INFO very slowly and carefully. Read each screen top to bottom and answer correctly.
Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment. If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
Have you entered income from working in 2025? If not, you will not receive an income tax refund based on having dependent children.
The maximum amount of the child tax credit is now $2000 per child; the refundable “additional child tax credit” amount is $1700. In order to get that credit, you have to have income from working.
Take the amount you earned from working. Subtract $2500. Multiply the rest by 15%. That is the additional child tax credit per child that you can get—- up to the maximum of $1700 per child. If the amount you earned from working was low, you will not get the full $1700 per child.
If your child is older than 16 at the end of 2025, you do not get the CTC. But you may still get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents instead.

Hello. I need help understanding the Child & Dependent Care Credit. I am the custodial parent (children lived with me more than half the year), and the noncustodial parent paid 100% of the daycare expenses. Under IRS rules, can either of us claim the credit using those expenses on Form 2441 or does no one claim it? Where in IRS guidance or publications does it say this?
