Due to the complexity of options available for reporting the activity of an S-Corp in North Carolina, it would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2025" file that is experiencing this issue. You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
Open your return and go to Online in the top menu, then choose "Send Tax File to Agent." On a Mac computer, choose Share or Help >> Send to Agent.
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is. Click okay through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
Reply to this thread with a screenshot of your Token number (this avoids Community filters for numbers with a dash) and tag (@) the Expert requesting the token from you.
We will attempt to determine the cause of your experience and possibly provide you with a resolution.

I've been looking and looking; this is ridiculously hard when you're an individual, not a business. The fillable pdf doesn't work for submittal to the IRS. They even warn you against it!

Leave the FEIN field blank. You shouldn't get any errors for this during the final review. Another method is entering all 9's as the FEIN (99-9999999). If you have a 1099-INT and box 4 is blank, you don't need to enter an FEIN. Make sure box 4 is blank on your 1099-INT, if you got one. Additionally, make sure box 4 is blank in TurboTax (no figures, including zeros), as this may cause TurboTax to think you had withholdings and will require an FEIN. If you still end up having issues, enter the income in the "Less common income" section as misc. Income. [Edited 03/29/26 | 11:56 am PST]

You still use the regular 1099INT & 1096. It's not just for business accounts. And you can use Turbo Tax to create them. Whoever's ssn is on the 1099 enters the whole amount on their return. Then after you enter it, on the next page it will ask - Do any of these uncommon situations apply and pick the first one, I need to adjust the interest reported on my form. Then on the next page fill in their amount as a POSITIVE number and pick the first reason "I received all or part of this for someone else". Then on the other person's return you enter it as a 1099 Int and put their amount in box 1. You can fill out a 1099INT to give them. You will need a 1099INT form and the 1096 Transmittal. If you have the Online Premium version or the Desktop Home & Business you can use Quick Employer Forms to fill them out and efile. Try these steps:
Click Tax Home, then look for a Start or Continue button for the 2025 return. If you don’t see it, scroll the left sidebar to the bottom and select Tax Tools > Tools > then Clear & Start Over.
If you’re still stuck on that marketing/summary page, open TurboTax in a private/incognito window and sign in; caching often causes this loop. Then try Start a new return again.
On sign-in, ensure you’re in the right tax year. If the URL shows 2024, change it to 2025 (for example, ww1.2024 → ww1.2025) to reach the current year’s workspace.
Once you’re in 2025, you can transfer last year’s info as prompted, or proceed directly to Personal Info and Income.

I'm trying to add home office assets for a second Schedule C business. The Home office asset summary screen will not allow me to create new assets. The simplified deduction is not checked. This home office is named differently from the one claimed on the first Schedule C, which has been operating for a few years (ruling out a naming issue with the software). The software is not calculating depreciation -- this seems like a glitch. The expense is well under the limit on line 8 of form 8829. This is TurboTax "Do it yourself Premium" -- doesn't seem to be an option in the dropdown (lol). Please help
