If your license code is not working and you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can open your TurboTax software on your computer, sign in to your Intuit account, and you will be prompted to enter the 16-character alphanumeric code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). This will activate your software and verify your license code. You can find the code in your confirmation email, your box, or the software download page, depending on how you purchased it.
If the activation screen doesn't come up, you can select to "Activate New Product" from your TurboTax "Help" menu.
You can contact TurboTax Customer Service using this link: Turbo Tax Customer Service.

When you edit your business entries, on the screen that says Your (name of business) Business, choose the option that says Business Vehicle Expense, under the heading of Business Expenses. Find your business vehicle listed and edit it, or set up a vehicle entry if you have not done so yet. Enter the information requested about your vehicle, including the mileage and you will come to a screen that says You've got a standard mileage deduction of $xxx. You will be asked on that screen if you want to stick with the standard mileage deduction or if you want to see if your actual expenses will give you a better deduction. You can choose which method you want to go with.

Without realizing, I exceeded the 23,500 401k limit. Please advise how to update all to get right and avoid unnecessary taxes. Being over 65, I am wondering if the overage can be put into line 6c which is the catch-up line. The overage is under the catch-up limit. If necessary, having the plan admin reduce out the difference but then does that require a new W2 and or at least updating the form in TT (getting a new W2 sent by them to IRS also)? This would change my tax rate but could offset by the overage tax. Better option: When I put into the 6c, the red colors go away. What I don't know is if the W2 needs to change for this (a different letter code to identify as catch-up) or if it's all done by simply moving the amount to 6c. Thanks in advance for good direction to simplify work and avoid tax complications.

To access your tax returns (current or prior year) you will sign into the TurboTax website with the user ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
As an alternative for current year return, when you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a State (You will not really be adding a state).
This will take you back in to the 2025 online tax return.
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Find the Print Center and choose the year you want to print. If you want your full return including worksheets, choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets.
In TurboTax Online, follow these steps to print/view your return and all of the informational worksheets after you have filed:
Sign in to TurboTax
Scroll down to Your Tax Returns & Documents
Select 2024 and then Add a State (You aren't actually adding a State but this gets you back into the Print Center)
From the left panel Select Tax Tools, scroll down a little and select Print Center
Select Print, save or preview this year's return
Select the 2024 Federal and/or State return box
Choose to Include TurboTax and government worksheets
Select View or Print Forms

If you are not using TurboTax Expert Assist you can follow these steps:
Follow these steps to downgrade to a different TurboTax Online product:
Open your return if you haven't already.
In the left menu, select Switch Products.
Select Downgrade.
You can remove TurboTax Live as long as you haven't used the Tax Expert feature. Here's what to do:
With your tax return open, select File.
Proceed through the screens until you reach the Just a few steps left... screen, then select Start or Revisit next to Step 1: Review Your Order.
On the order summary screen, select Downgrade.
If you don't see Downgrade or already used the Tax Expert feature, you can clear your return and start over as long as you haven’t paid yet. After clearing your return, you can select the TurboTax product that best suits your needs.
Keep in mind: If you want to receive help from a tax expert, you’ll need to use TurboTax Live.

In previous tax years, you could choose "Multiple States" and hit Continue without entering an amount of exempt dividend income for any particular state, but for the current version of 2025 TurboTax, that definitely does not work--I tried it. You MUST select one actual state (normally you'd choose your home state) and enter an amount of tax-exempt dividends for that state. Then you are allowed to choose Multiple States and enter the balance, and whatever two or more amounts you enter on that screen has to add up correctly to the total. Otherwise you are not allowed to proceed and get the dividends area of your return marked as completed. It's a real time-wasting nuisance this year, because at least in my case, and I expect many others, it will make no difference in federal or state tax due, because for most taxpayers, the amounts are too small to matter.

Anything in box 16? For state boxes, if box 16 is empty or zero then for box 16 State Distribution put the same amount that’s in box 1. If box 14 is blank you can leave boxes 14,15 & 16 blank. Filling in box 16 state distribution will not affect your state return. No one who has done that and filed has reported any problems.

I am getting errors on Federal Review for a blank Form 1065 that is not filled out and it is asking me to complete. The error is the title of this post: "K-1 Entry Wks-Partnerships (Untitled): Partnership Name has not been entered" What's really strange is the form has the "Partner's Name" as the registered name of our S-Corporation (Partnership), rather than one of the two actual partners. This seems like the software for some reason drafted an extra form 1065, even there are only two partners, each with 50% ownership. How can I get past this?
