Per the instructions to Form 564, A qualified employee would be one who is employed by a qualified employer in the aerospace sector. The person also must have at least an undergraduate degree from a "qualified program at an institution or have a professional engineer license from the Oklahoma State Board of Licensure or Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors pursuant to 59 OS Sec 475.15. "   A qualified program means "one that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET)  and awards an undergraduate or graduate degree." So it seems you need at least an undergraduate degree from an accredited engineering program.   “Qualified Program” means a program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and awards an undergraduate or graduate degree. A qualified program includes both undergraduate and graduate programs of the same discipline of engineering at an institution if either program is ABET accredited.   @lukemccloud

Please clarify. Are you amending just to change your filing status?    You may be able to use your phone but you generally cannot amend your tax return using the TurboTax mobile app. Amending a return requires using the full TurboTax Online website via a web browser (desktop or mobile) or the Desktop software to navigate to "Your tax returns & documents" and select "Amend".   If you were legally married at the end of 2024, you can either file Married Filing Joint or Married Filing Separately, except that in limited situations, you can file as Head of Household (HOH) while legally married at year-end if you are considered "unmarried" by the IRS. This requires living apart from your spouse for the last six months of the year, paying over half the household costs, and claiming a qualifying dependent child who lived with you.   Changing from married filing jointly (MFJ) to married filing separately (MFS) must generally be done before the original tax filing deadline (usually April 15). See this help article for the steps to convert from joint to separate for the current filing year.

We did go back to the dealer, yesterday.   They stated that they are past the deadline of being able to file the paperwork.   They stated that the car does qualify and that they did not take the EV credit themselves.   Based on the fact that they messed up a different piece of paperwork connected with the VIN and had to correct it shortly after the sale, I suspect that they simply messed up.   I hope that there is another way we can rectify this. As it stands, if a dealer does not file the appropriate paperwork, they lose nothing but consumers are harmed.

If your uploaded W-2 statements don't appear in your TurboTax W-2 summary, it may be because the upload process did not complete successfully or the system did not extract the data correctly. Try these steps: 1. Confirm that your W-2 file format is supported (PDF, JPEG, PNG). 2. Upload the W-2 again through the Wages & Income section under the W-2 entry. 3. After upload, TurboTax should automatically extract the data and show it in the W-2 summary. 4. If data is still missing, you can manually enter your W-2 information. Ensuring the upload was successful and checking for any error messages during the upload can help resolve this.   You can manually enter your W-2 details in TurboTax Online by following these steps: 1. Go to the Wages & Income section. 2. Select Add a W-2 or Edit if you already started. 3. When prompted, choose Type it in myself. 4. Enter all the information exactly as it appears on your W-2 form. 5. Review the details to ensure accuracy and continue with the prompts. This allows you to input your information directly if the upload doesn’t work properly.

The error is saying - you told me you have an exception to the penalty but the penalty is blank. The fix - you need a zero. Here are some options: The "Delete and Re-add" Method:  Go to the North Carolina state section in TurboTax.  Find the screen for Underpayment Penalties. Even though you don't owe one, walk through the interview again.  If there is an option to "Calculate my penalty for me," select it.  Sometimes forcing the calculation engine to run again "wakes up" the field and places the 0 in the electronic record. Check to see if your form shows a zero now on D 400, line 26e   Manually Enter a "0": If you are using TurboTax Desktop (Windows/Mac),  switch to Forms Mode.  Locate the Form D-400 from the left side Find Line 26e.  If it is highlighted in a specific color (usually yellow or cyan), try manually typing 0 into that field.  If it's already there, delete it and re-type it.   The "Waiver" Checkbox: Look for a screen that asks about "Penalty Exceptions" or "Annualized Income." Sometimes checking and then unchecking a box can reset the form's internal logic. A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files). Online version: Delete the underpayment penalty / worksheet- if possible, see How to Delete   Log out of your return and try one or more of the following: Don't use Internet Explorer. Clear cache and cookies, Sign in using a different browser. Sign in using a different device. Log back into your return. Enter the information again.  Desktop version:  Delete the form Save your return while closing the program. Update the program Open Enter the information again.

You had a state debt that has not been paid.  The state seized your state tax refund.  Call the number on the notice you received from the state for more information.   Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.

This can be caused by missing details on imported 1099 forms, blank forms carried forward from a prior year or an import error or just to confirm certain information.   Some common reasons and fixes:    Missing Data on Form 1099-B Even if you imported your 1099-B, the software may flag transactions as "Needs Review" if specific fields are blank, like: Cost Basis, Date Acquired/Sold, Wash Sales Sometimes you have to confirm transactions that have wash-sale adjustments. You can click on the "Review" button to check your transactions for missing information. Look for any blank fields. Blank Forms or Multiple Import Issues  If you imported your data, you may have an empty form that is not fully deleted. You can go to your investment section of TurboTax and look for forms with no data and delete the form.   Review loop: Sometimes the software gets stuck in a loop where it asks you to review data that is already correct. You can click the pencil icon to edit your entered forms, click through the details and click Done or Continue to force the software to acknowledge the entry. You can also try entering a summary total rather than listing every transaction that  was imported – from the front page of your Form 1099. Digital Assets Question Make sure you have answered Yes or No to the questions regarding whether you sold, exchanged, or disposed of any digital assets (cryptocurrency).   Technical Clear your cache and cookies ‌Please click here for instructions on how to clear your cache. Please click here for instructions on clearing your cookies. Also, try a different browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. If you have an entry with just cents, like $0.05 it may have been rounded to zero, which can trigger a review. Change the amount to $1 or if it's negligible, delete the entry.   Often you can still file your TurboTax return even if a "Needs Review" message persists, if the final Complete Check or Smart Check finds no actual errors.   How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?   How do I delete a tax form in TurboTax Desktop?   Please return to Community if you have any additional information or questions and we would be happy to help.

The only reason I don't have an underpayment penalty is BECAUSE I am filing DR 0204.  I use the annualization method in Part 4 to calc the installment payment due each period.  Then Part 3 for the penalty calculation is supposed to show that I actually overpaid instead of underpaid and therefore have no penalty.  But since lines 10-12 are blank, that calculation is not done.   If I don't include DR 0204 then I will be assessed a penalty.   "All official forms required for filing" does include DR 0204.
Sounds like you must be using the Desktop program?   Go to Forms mode and check  the top of the Turbo Tax Social Security Worksheet. There is a box to check if you lived in a foreign country.
