Along with the new process for importing data from a financial institution this year, a reCAPTCHA "Prove you're not a robot" feature has been introduced in the Ameripage connection. This morning, I spent over one half hour trying to identify all those motorcycles, crosswalks etc but could not get out!! I had other people try, same result! I contacted Ameripage but they were unhelpful and recommended I contact TT. I assume there was something wrong with reCAPTCHA,, but what is the recovery in such a case?

The same thing happened to me too this year. My daughter hasn't been able to amend them yet as I can't find the 2025 1040-x and TurboTax doesn't have the form to to do the amendment online yet. After you re-filed your taxes, did everything go OK from there?

Enter zero on the fields that TurboTax wants a value in, and that are showing blank on your tax form.

You can only enter your retirement distributions for the year. You can't enter it by quarter. TurboTax will ask you how the distributions were made shortly after you enter the information on your 1099-R. That is where you can show that you received period payments. Revisit the 1099-R section in the Wages and Income section and work through the questions again to clarify how the distributions were made. Consider also going to the Other tax situations section and visit the underpayment penalties section to answer questions regarding your estimated tax penalty calculation.

According to TurboTax's tax form availability matrix (https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product=Turbotax_windows&bu=cg), this form should be available for e-file in the desktop windows software, however, I have the software with the latest updates, and it shows that the form is not finalized and cannot be submitted. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a date. TurboTax, can you fix your matrix please! Rich

Yes. The total amount of the CTCis $2200, with a refundable portion of up to $1700 which is called the "additional child tax credit." The ACTC is based on how much you earned from working.
The maximum amount of the child tax credit is now $2200 per child; the refundable “additional child tax credit” amount is $1700. In order to get that credit, you have to have income from working.
Take the amount you earned from working. Subtract $2500. Multiply the rest by 15%. That is the additional child tax credit per child that you canget—- up to the maximum of $1700 per child. If the amount you earned from working was low, you will not get the full $1700 per child.
If your child is older than 16 at the end of 2025, you do not get the CTC. But you may still get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents instead.
