Follow these steps: Open to Wisconsin return. Continue through Look for  "Here's the income that Wisconsin handles differently." Look under the Education category for "College Savings Program (Edvest and Tomorrow's Scholar)."  Click Start or Update. On the following screens, TurboTax will ask if you (or someone else) made contributions to a Wisconsin 529 plan.  Select Yes. You will then enter the beneficiary's name, the account number, and the amount contributed for the tax year. If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.  Pay through either Direct Pay or your individual online account

To find the cost basis of a timeshare purchased 20 years ago in TurboTax, you must locate the original purchase contract or closing statement, as TurboTax Support notes that if records are unavailable, the IRS assumes a zero basis. Your basis is the initial purchase price plus closing costs and any legally recognized capital improvements (not maintenance fees).    The timeshare company may be able to help you with this.   If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. I finished my taxes and logged back in to get a printed copy. I then got this email: Your TurboTax account has been updated My tax was not updated, I just downloaded federal and state returns. I want to be sure that no one else has accessed and changed my account. When I tried to follow up, I got the 400 response.   Thank  you, Mary Ann
You got a text from whom? This is perhaps a scam.    Think about it, why would TurboTax or the IRS say that your taxes weren't filed?

Yes, all versions of Turbo Tax will ensure you get the senior tax credit when you file your 2025 tax return. The credit will be calculated based on the birthdate you enter into the software. As long as you are not Married Filing Separate, Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. The deduction is automatically entered on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Line 37 Enhanced Deduction for Seniors, which flows to 1040 line 13b. The Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  $6,000 senior deduction is per eligible individual ($12,000 total for a married couple where both spouses qualify). The deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 ($150,000 for joint filers). Filers must have a valid Social Security number. Filers have to file a joint return if married. Additional Information: TurboTax Tip: Additional Deduction for Seniors ($6000 senior deduction)

I am amending my tax returns in Turbo Tax since I just received Schedule K-1 and Schedule 2K-1 (Massachusetts).  I entered the information from K-1 into the Federal return and went to the State return (Idaho).   The 2K-1 has an entry for Part A, line 8.  Problem is that Turbo tax has already changed the amount owed and says to file the amended return.  Your help says to look for "How your state handles Income Differently".  This never shows up.  Is this correct?

As a flight attendant residing in Florida, you generally do not need to file a California Form 540NR because your income is protected by federal law, specifically the 49 U.S.C. § 40116(f) (often referred to as the Amtrak Act or the 49 U.S.C. § 11502 equivalent for air carriers).   Federal law mandates that the compensation of an employee of an air carrier (like a flight attendant or pilot) is only taxable in the state where the employee resides—in your case, Florida.  This protection applies as long as your duties are performed in more than one state and you do not earn more than 50% of your pay in a single state other than your residence state. Since most of your time is likely spent in the air (interstate or international commerce) rather than physically within the borders of California, you meet this requirement.

The way this income is handled varies by state. In TurboTax, you can claim this exemption by navigating to the state return section and identifying the Tribal Income adjustment, often found under "Here's the income that [State] handles differently".    For E-filing: Answer the interview questions to generate state forms (e.g., Arizona Form 5013 or California Form 3504). If your state explicitly requires physical copies of IDs or letters, you may need to print and mail your return instead of e-filing. E-fling transmits a data file. Record Keeping: You can upload your documents to the TurboTax Documents tab (or "My Docs") for your own records and to have them ready if the IRS or state tax board requests them later.    Contact your state tax agency  for more information about their requirements if needed.   If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.
