There have been no federal stimulus checks since tax years 2020 and 2021, and it is too late for those. The deadline to seek stimulus money for 2020 or 2021 is past.

To check on regular tax refund status via automated phone, call 800-829-1954.
Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities. There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.
TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. “21 days” is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:
https://www.irs.gov/refunds
To track your state refund:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr
If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing

@swick here is the issue the question will come up in stepxstep view in the Desktop version, but that section is not available yet. I can see the screen in the 2024 version, but not in 2025. As a work around, go into Forms View and open up Schedule C. Enter the Self-Employed Heath Insurance adjustment in Box 15. That will link to form 7206 and end up on form 1040.

@doorcounty what you laid out is exactly correct . Your tax return is the way ACA "trues up" what was known a year ago (dependents, income, etc). verus what really took place. it is the way the process was designed. Since he is your dependent, you are required to report his ACA on your tax return; he doesn't report it on his. A tax return has at least three tax purposes: a) settle up INCOME tax, b) settle up social security and medicare taxes (especially if you are self employed) c) true up ACA premium tax credit.

Online preparation and e-filing for 2022, 2023, and 2024 is permanently closed.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2022, 2023, or 2024 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.
Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

By "someone" did your taxes---who do you mean? Did you use an online TurboTax "expert" or do you mean a friend or family member prepared your tax return? If a friend or family member used TT, then you need them to tell you the account and user ID they used, or get them to print out copies for you.
If you mean you used a TT "expert"--
You have to access your own account and/or print it for yourself using exactly the same account and user ID that you used when you prepared the return.

SAVE YOUR TAX RETURNS !
EVERY year before mid-October you should save a copy of your tax return as a pdf and print a copy of it for your records. That way you will not be searching online frantically when you need it for a lender, FAFSA forms, your next tax return, etc.

In order to transfer a past year return to the new return you need the tax file

NOTE: TurboTax and the IRS save returns for seven years. Returns older than seven years are purged.

@user17636035548
First thank you for your post with all the answers to my questions.
Second, please accept my apologies for delayed response.
Part of the delay is my struggle with unclear directions from the form 8938 instructions. While I recognize that despite Under model 1/2 IGA between US and UK there is no requirement for the UK pension admin / trust to report the holding to the US-IRS/ Treasury. However, this does not abate the requirement for the beneficiary/ pensioner from reporting under FATCA regs.
The question then ( and because of the distributed/ contorted information gathering on the form ) is how to report this "pension " account. If one looks at IRC section 1471-5 for definitions used in FATCA regs, I am more inclined to report a pension account like an annuity i.e. under custodial account . This is in contrast to your information of reporting as a trust ( see definition in the above ref 26.USC 1471-5... ).
Since the whole idea of FATCA is to detect/ avoid money laundering through "specified foreign financial assets/ accounts", all one is required to do is generally report the holding but generally under headings as defined under section ref'd above. So my view is to report the pension account as a custodial account. The pension fund is holding your monies ( your contribution & that of your employer ) and investing and growing for future "annuity" type of payment to you as beneficiary.
This would mean that line 20 -- Custodial; line 21 -- is your account identification at the pension fund admin
26a -- Name of the fund admin; 26b is blank or the IGA model 1 or 2 ( as the case may be )
I do not agree that this should be reported as a trust where you own a specific share etc.
That is my take on this. Is there more I can do for you ?
