The only reason I don't have an underpayment penalty is BECAUSE I am filing DR 0204. I use the annualization method in Part 4 to calc the installment payment due each period. Then Part 3 for the penalty calculation is supposed to show that I actually overpaid instead of underpaid and therefore have no penalty. But since lines 10-12 are blank, that calculation is not done. If I don't include DR 0204 then I will be assessed a penalty. "All official forms required for filing" does include DR 0204.

Sounds like you must be using the Desktop program? Go to Forms mode and check the top of the Turbo Tax Social Security Worksheet. There is a box to check if you lived in a foreign country.

go back to the dealer. There is nothing you can do without proper documentation and the dealer filing the proper paperwork with the iRS. Another possibility is that the dealer took the EV credit and reduced the price you paid accordingly. This means you file nothing. The final possibility is that what you were sold does not qualify

@MarilynG1, thank you for demonstrating the issue being faced by TT customers, i.e., that the software is NOT showing which field is marked as estimated. My screenshot also shows that none of the fields were marked as estimated despite the software stating that it is. My intent in providing the screenshot is to demonstrate this fact. Thus, searching thru forms for something that is not present is indeed futile in this case. In summary, the ambiguity of the instruction provided by the software remains unaddressed in terms of both the definition of "stdliab" that does not translate to anything recognizable at the User's visual interface AND that the software does not show any fields on the form using any highlighting/coloring. I hope this is clear and that we can stop churning butter here... TY and I look forward to your taking a proactive approach to resolving this software issue.

The deduction is based on your date of birth in My Info. So it is included.
You will only see the Standard or Itemized deduction on line 12e of your tax return.
However, the Senior Deduction is reflected on line 13b .
Line 13b includes multiple deductions
Senior deduction
No tax on tips
No tax on Overtime
No tax on car loan interest.
It is reflected on Schedule 1A, Part V, Line 37
There's a $6,000 deduction for individuals older than 65, and a $12,000 deduction would apply to couples who qualify.
For more information, see Deductions for Seniors.

There's one minor exception that doesn't apply to your situation. Paying in 2025 for the first term of 2026 counts for the 2025 tax credit.

What does it say? I don’t think it says you must file MFS. It probably is saying something like that if you file MFS up to 85`% of your Social Security becomes taxable right away even with zero other income. Here's some things to consider about filing separately…… In the first place you each have to file a separate return, so that's two returns. And if you are using the Online version that means using 2 accounts and paying the fees twice. The Desktop CD/Download program would be better to use. Many people think they come out better when filing Married Filing Separate but they are probably doing it wrong. If one person itemizes deductions on Schedule A then the other one must itemize too, even if it's less than the standard deduction, even if it is ZERO! And if you are in a Community Property state it can be complicated to figure out. And there are several credits you can't take when filing separately, like the EITC Earned Income Tax Credit Child Care Credit Educational Deductions and Credits And contributions to IRA and ROTH IRA are limited when you file MFS. And what state are you in? If you are in a Community Property state filing MFS can be complicated to figure out. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/married-filing-separately-community-property/L11CeLUMs_US_en_US

Once your tax return is released to the IRS, TurboTax has no control over it.
However, the IRS has published an article because delays happen so frequently.
Why it may take longer than 21 days for some taxpayers to receive their federal refund
The IRS states, "To check the status of a refund, taxpayers should use the Where's My Refund? tool on IRS.gov."

You do not have to report gift income on your return. But you do have to report hobby and/or self-employment income on your return. When a gift's value exceeds $19,000, the giver (not the recipient) is responsible for reporting it on their taxes. This is done on Form 709, United States Gift (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return. Read more here.
Gifts valued at $19,000 or less don't need to be reported.
Hobby Income is money you earn from an activity you do for fun (like selling knitted scarves or streaming video games). You provided a good or service, so the IRS views this as taxable income.
Gift Income is money or property transferred to you out of "detached and disinterested generosity" with nothing expected in return. It is generally tax-free for you, the recipient.
