This will be much faster and more detailed than phoning TurboTax Support.     This answer assumes your previous returns were prepared in Online TurboTax.   Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account.  Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary.  Many people end up with more than 1 account.  The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2025 return.  I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation.   If you have not yet started a 2025 online return: Sign in to your account.   What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2025 return in that account.   If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2025 return in that account.  If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions.  Answer those preliminary questions on a few screens (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process, the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option in the left menu column.  Do not click the Documents tab.  Instead, click on Tax Home.  Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents".  Expand that section and choose the past year you want.   If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one.  I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot.   If you have already started a 2025 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2025 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home.  If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu.  Do not use the Documents tab.  At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents."   If the past returns are not there, see the steps below.   If you do all that and can't find the past return, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes.  A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be.  It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all.   To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below.  When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it.   After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop.  Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below.  You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access,  here's another method:          Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.
this exact issue is happening to me and its so frustrating. TT can you send us an update when this is fixed?

This way, you’ll get the forms you need, maximize your deductions, and file an accurate return. Depending on what your tax situation was last year, you might need to use new tax forms to claim the same deductions, credits, or forms of income.    We make it easy for you to file a simple return for free with Free Edition. It is automatic based on your age. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. The new Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b with any other sch 1-A amounts. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. If you are married you have to file a Joint return.
For Online version You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/accessing/help/how-do-i-preview-my-turbotax-online-return-before-filing/00/26160 If you are looking for the full $46,700 (34,700+12,000) it should be on 1040 line 14. What do you have on 1040 or 1040SR line 13b? See the 1040 ….

Yes, you can claim his as your dependent if you provided over 50% of his support and his only income was non-taxable Social Security.   If he received a 1095-A for his health insurance, you can enter that in your return in the Deductions section, under Medical.   @bigcat024
Has this actually worked? I'm skeptical because the review always changes box 17A B and C to No when it is YES. Clearly a software bug

@ Spud wrote: I removed encryption but it still will not import into 2025 desktop version. Read through this thread.  There are many posts which tell about various solutions and maneuvers to try.    Sometimes restarting the computer and relaunching TurboTax, allowing it to update, solves it. Another suggestion was to open the *.tax2024 data file in the 2024 software, and re-save it, then try to transfer it into 2025. Another suggestion from a user was to double-click the *.tax2024 data file as though you were "launching" it, and TurboTax might say it can't open it  and ask if you want to transfer it into 2025 instead. There are several other suggestions in this thread describing what worked for various users.

I spent several hours with a TT consultant, no resolution until we got disconnected. I called Wells fargo, and they said there is a problem if your password has special characters.  I changed the password and used chrome and edge, and still the same result.  Therefore, no help from Turbo Tax, no help from Wells fargo, so I will have to enter everything by hand.  I tried both the desktop and the online TT and nothing works.  I have downloaded all my tax documents and am preparing for the long slog of entering everything by hand.  I hope they fix it by 2026 tax season.
