@AmyC , I zeroed out the years where there was no carryover, and entered your work-around of $731 as the original credit and $126 as the used amount, leaving $605 as the intended carryover. I went through all the rest of the screens to the review, and IT WORKED! No more errors! I cannot thank you enough for your comprehensive response so I know *why* it happened, as well as how to fix it!! I truly appreciate you, thank you so much.

This is a known issue in TurboTax and we are working to resolve it as soon as possible. As soon as we have a resolution for you, we will update you in this Community thread.
In the meantime, you may file a request for extension of time to file or file now and amend later. You also have the option to manually override numbers on forms in TurboTax Desktop and file by mail (overriding calculations invalidates the TurboTax Accuracy Guarantee).

Thanks for your reply, I wish I could tell you it worked. I cleared cache and cookies, closed every open window and tried again. Went to my state return, hit Done with State and ran the check. The same error was flagged. I signed out and tried signing on to the site on my iPad. I have never before accessed the site from my iPad; went to my state return, hit Done with State and ran the check - same error. I’ve been chasing this error for almost two weeks. Instead, what I’d like to know now is if the NJ Pension Annuities and IRA Wks is filed with my return? Some worksheets are not and if this is one of them, I can let this go and file my returns. Thank you

I purchased a washing machine for my rental property that cost < $1000, and I would like to expense it with a De Minimis election. When I add this as an asset, in the Assets/Depreciation section, I am only shown the options for: 1) Section 179 Deduction, and 2) Special Depreciation Allowance. TurboTax does not prompt to make a De Minimis election. And when I enter it as "Other Expenses", I don't see an option there to indicate that it is an appliance and elect the De Minimis.

That solution does not work in forms mode either. Box appears on line item but data will not enter.

I am a US citizens, founder and beneficiary of a Panama Foundation (grantor trust) who just own an apartment in Panama where I lived in 2025 without paying rent. Indeed I paid personally Panamanian property taxes for the apartment ($1,000) and HOA ($2,000) because the Foundation didn’t have a bank account for almost all 2025. The Foundation has no revenues, I just wired $500 to its bank account in December. FMV of the rent (uncompensated use of property) would be $1,000 a month ($12,000 for the entire 2025) I am compiling form 3520A (substitute) and I have some questions: Part II Line 10a (foreign taxes) should I write $1,000 even if I paid those taxes for the Foundation? Line 14 (other expenses) should I write $2,000 even if I paid those expenses for the Foundation? Line 17A (FMV distribution uncompensated use of property) should I write $12,000? (Indeed I paid property taxes and HOA) As date for the distribution, should I write January 1st 2025 or December 31st 2025? General question: if each year I contribute money to the trust ($500 in 2025) how is this money to be considered? Income for the Foundation, partial payment for free rent, or what else? Thank you for your kind response.

If you are filing as Married Filing Separately you are not eligible for the deduction. If you are Single and your AGI is over $175,000 or Married Filing Jointly and your AGI is over $250,000 you are not eligible for the deduction.
If you are age 65 or older and meet the requirement, the additional deduction is automatically added on your federal tax return.
Standard deductions for 2025
Single - $15.750 add $2,000 if age 65 or older Married Filing Separately - $15,750 add $1,600 if age 65 or older Married Filing Jointly - $31,500 add $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older Head of Household - $23,625 add $2,000 if age 65 or older
New Bonus Standard Deduction (OBBB): An additional $6,000 deduction for taxpayers 65 and older. This is per eligible individual, meaning a married couple both over 65 could get $12,000. Important: This bonus deduction is temporary, lasting from 2025 through 2028. Income limitations: It phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.
The amount is calculated on Schedule 1-A, Part V, with that amount flowing to Form 1040 Line 13b
Look at your Form 1040 -
You can view your Form 1040 plus Schedules 1, 2 and 3 at any time using the online editions. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.

IRAs are considered to be Qualified Plans for tax reporting purposes are 401(k) plans (among many others). When you get to a screen in TurboTax for the 1099-R titled "What kind of retirement plan do you have with [custodian name]?" it will have selections for Qualified and Non-qualified. If you click the link for How do I find this? on that screen, it will list the plans that are considered Qualified plans, which includes IRAs.

I found the problem! I evidently entered a zero when asked about “2024 state estimated taxes paid in 2025;” we had none. After removing the zero, no more error codes! I discovered the TurboTax Support solution following below. Thank you to everyone who posted helpful tips! How to Correct the Error in TurboTax Navigate to Estimates: Go to Federal Taxes (or Personal > Income & Expenses) > Deductions & Credits. Locate Estimates: Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid and click Start or Revisit next to State Estimated Taxes for 2025. Edit the Payment: Select the Colorado payment you made and edit the details. Change the Date: Ensure the date for the 4th Quarter payment is set to a 2025 date (e.g., Dec 31, 2025) if you want it to appear as a 2025 payment, or ensure it is correctly categorized as a 4th quarter payment if it was paid on January 15, 2026, to ensure it doesn't inflate earlier quarters.

If this is a Single-Member LLC that will report on the owner's Form 1040 federal return, you don't need to include Schedule F until there is income or are expenses to report. Note that any expenses up to that point (including filing fees) become "start up costs" that are amortized over a period of time rather than expensed in the first year.
Obtaining an EIN doesn't obligate the employer to file a tax return.
