Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:
Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu.
Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website.
Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms.
Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit."
Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.
Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Hi, I'm using TurboTax online to file my taxes, which I've done the past several years. I qualify for the $2,500 Maine student loan repayment credit/reimbursement. I have filled out the designated form (degree, graduation date, state, and total amount of payments made), and I am showing a Maine state refund, but that refund does not include the $2500 repayment like it should. I have tried clearing cookies/cache but no luck. Please help?

Yes, you can use your 5-digit Self-Selected PIN from last year to verify your identity instead of your AGI.

Thanks. How and where can I see the systems calculations for the allowed amount? I ask because, all of the HELOC proceeds were used for a home renovation. The refinancing was that I needed to increase the HELOC to pay for additional work. My concern is that I dont seem to be getting the credit for enough of the interest that I paid. I know there are caps (750,000?) but my total actual borrowings are 850k. (Whereas, the sum of the first mortgage and the two HELOCs (one replaced the other), is over $1M. ) The total interest is $39,000. Doesn't that mean I have 34,400 in deductible interest? (ie 750/850 x 39,000?) Given that I have other deductions, it seems I should itemize. And yet, it's telling me to take the standard deduction whereas this should be higher. The only thing that I can figure is that somehow the interest isnt being calculated correctly...

You are not right. The official 2025 1040 IRS instruction must be the only reference for judgment. Lets check it. Main home was in the U.S. If your main home (and spouse if filing a joint return) was in the U.S. for over half of 2025, check the box on the front of Form 1040 or 1040-SR. Providing this information will help the IRS determine your eligibility for certain tax benefits, including the earned income credit. Where do you see that the checkbox should not be checked if you don't claim EIC, please ? For Green card holders it is not only about EIC, but also about the following question on their naturalization application : ""Have you ever called yourself a 'non-U.S. resident' on a Federal, state, or local tax return since you became a lawful permanent resident?"" Information about this checkbox was never asked by TurboTax while filling. It is differently a prod defect which has to be fixed !
