When you enter your 1099-R forms, you get to a screen "Where is your distribution from?" - for your 1099-R forms, the bottom selection "None of the above" would be correct.  Make sure that box is checked in TurboTax for both 1099-R forms.   Heading over to the New York return, you'll get to a screen "Changes to Federal Income": Select Start or Update for "Received retirement income" in the Wage and retirement adjustments section. On the "Retirement Distributions Summary" screen, both of the 1099 R forms will be listed.  Click Edit for the first one Answer the question about whether it is a beneficiary IRA If you turned 59-1/2 in 2025, the next question will ask when you received the distribution - if you enter a date after you turned 59-1/2, the distribution will be eligible for the $20,000 pension/IRA exclusion. Repeat this for the 2nd IRA.  If this IRA was taken by someone who did not turn 59-1/2 in 2025, then the distribution date question will not show up. Click Done In a mock return that I did, for two distributions for each spouse over $20,000 and both older than 59-1/2 at the time of distribution, it gave a $20,000 result on line 4b for each spouse on the Pen Ann IRA Wks.  There was also a $40,000 subtraction amount on line 29 of Form IT-201 for Pension and annuity income exclusion.
I need the amount on line 37 of nys taxes 2024

Thank you again. I really do appreciate your time.   This didn't work either. I deleted a few forms, but the 8889-S wouldn't delete. I tried several times, and logged out and back in again and tried again. I get the message that it was successfully deleted, but it remains in the list of forms. I tried in a different browser with no success there, either. I still get the same error upon final check.

The facts and circumstances are set forth below are taken into consideration as to whether a life estate could be implied.   1) The transfer is to a family member, most typically from a parent to a child.   2) The transferor (again generally a parent) is elderly and continues to reside on the property usually until death.   3) There is some sort of understand between the parties as to the arrangement under examination.   4) The transferor, while continuing to reside on the property, pays most or all of the expenses (e.g., property taxes, utilities, mortgage interest (if any), repairs and maintenance).   5) The property is being used as the transferor's primary residence.   6) The property is sold by those formerly with a remainder interest within a short time period after death of the (implied) life tenant.
You might be able to use the FMV on the date of death (i.e, step-up basis) if you can show your mother retained a life estate (this would be an implied life estate).   See https://www.law.cornell.e... See more...

Nothing about your situation is out of the ordinary, but TurboTax can be confusing—especially with the simplified foreign tax credit option. Here’s what’s going on and how to document your carryovers so the IRS has everything it needs.   First of all, you need to amend your 2024 return to choose the general method instead of the simplified method. The simplified method should be used only if you have nothing but passive income to report. Since you have both passive and general category income, the general method must be chosen. Choosing the General method will allow Form 1116 to appear in your return and allow the carryovers into future years.   Now after amending your 2024 return, you should be able to file your 2025 return, not receive the error message, and to be able to utilize the carryovers your 2024 return generated.   [ Edited 03/27/2026 I 1:13pm PST]

Vouchers you got last year for 2025 or this year 2026?  Either way Turbo Tax isn't expecting them and doesn't enter them.   The IRS isn't expecting them either.   You have to manually enter the dates you paid and the acutal amounts yourself.   To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business) Deductions and Credits Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid Estimates - click the Start or Update button For a state estimated payment made in Jan 2025 for the prior year, go to 2024 state estimated taxes paid in 2025. When you click in the left column tab for Deductions & Credits, it may take you to a page called "Your Tax Breaks. Lower on that same screen should be a button or link for "Add more tax breaks" or "Show more tax breaks" or similar wording. When clicked, then the screen should expand, and all the deduction topics are displayed including "Estimates and Other Taxes Paid." Then that topic can be expanded further to get the subtopic Estimated Tax Payments.

To amend your return, you will log back into your return and select Amend My Return.  Be sure before you do this that the IRS has already processed your original return.    Then you will go to the 1095-A section by selecting Deductions and Credits>>Medical>>1095-A and delete the entries. You will want to keep the form 8962 and show $0 so you would not delete the form 8962. Since you cannot specifically attach the voided 1095-A to your return and TurboTax may not like a blank 8962, you can try to e-file, however, if it is rejected you would need to print and mail your amended return (form 1040-X) and the voided 1095-A to the mailing address that prints out on the instructions.    Amend a Return

Where does it say that?  When did you pay the 4th  qtr estimate?  Was it in January 2026?  You might only be seeing the payments that go to federal schedule A as an itemized deduction.  Those  are just the payments you actually paid in 2025.  So the refund applied and the June & Sept estimates.   You will get credit for all the payments on  your state return.
