Agree that is how it should work, but it does not.  I checked to ensure my DOB was correctly stated. However, TT is treating the $3975 as an over contribution, and I cannot correct it in the tax form. I think it’s a software issue. Thanks for your response.

Almost correct.  However, total additions to the solo 401(k) are not permitted to exceed your net earnings of $27,881, so with a $23,500 Roth 401(k) contribution your employer contribution to the solo 401(k) is limited to $4,381.  Alternatively, you could reduce your employee Roth 401(k) contribution to  $22,305 and make the maximum employer contribution of $5,576.  Including your Roth IRA contribution, the total contributions would be $34,881.  The same earnings that support a Roth 401(k) can also support a Roth IRA contribution.  (The same is not true for deductible 401(k) contributions.)
E-File Forms is grayed OUT Seems like people have had this issue in the past and I haven’t seen any resolution. When will this be available??

@DickBlaha    Supposedly on/after 21 January.  But I suspect 22 Jan would be more likely.   You could check for an update on 15 Jan too. They don't think it will be ready that soon but sometimes things work smoother than expected. ____________________ It's been removed...but Do Not post your email address in here since it is available to the entire world.  You will be able to access the 2024 return you started by using the exact same account and user ID that you used when you started it.   But you can no longer use online software for any further changes.       Start a 2025  return online and enter some personal information  so that the menu on the left opens up and lets you access your past year returns.   Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2024  returns is now permanently closed.    Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2024 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac  (not to a mobile device). Then you need to print, sign and mail it.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/printers-printing/finish-prior-year-return-started-turbotax-online/L9Oe4M90A_US_en_US?uid=m68tffpe   If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.   They are available from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday - Friday   https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899263-what-is-the-turbotax-phone-number     If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late.  If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS for the penalty and interest you will owe.  Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.     When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.   Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

That is correct.  You cannot use online to work on a 2024 return.   You need to use the desktop download on a full PC or Mac.   Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/amend-change-correct-return-already-filed/L4VjJ9BA2_US_en_US?uid=m76mq6z2       Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.     You can watch for information here: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return
Sorry----it is too late now to seek the 2020 or 2021 stimulus checks.  The deadline for even the last one---for 2021-- was April 15, 2025.

Not sure what you are referring to when you say ".......without transport..."-- - If you are not able to claim your 16 year old as a dependent you might be answering something incorrectly in MY INFO, so go back to MY INFO.  Click his name, and go slowly and carefully through all of the interview questions.  Read each screen top to bottom.   Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.
