Please see TurboTax Expert KrisD's original answer to a similar question posted below here.
"The 1099-G for the New York State Inflation Refund Check can be entered as a New York State refund in the TurboTax program.
Income Other Common Income State and Local Tax Refunds on Form 1099-G START or UPDATE
Select the "Tax return year" on the "Tell us about the refund you received in 2025" as TAX YEAR 2023
Enter zero for "Payments and Withholding"
Enter the amount that you received which is reported on that 1099-G
Select NO for the "Let's check if your 2023 New York refund is taxable" screen
Once the NO radio button is selected a drop-down opens and you can enter the taxable amount which is the full amount reported on that 1099-G.
If you also receive a 1099-G for a 2024 state tax refund, that can be entered separately from this 1099-G. You will attribute the "inflation refund" check to tax year 2023 and the State refund (if you received one) to tax year 2024.
This is the first year New York has issued a payment like this. There is no one dedicated screen to enter this 1099-G in the TurboTax program.
Technically the New York State Inflation Refund Check is NOT a refund of tax. It is similar to an Earned Income Credit in so far as it is based on the Taxpayer's income, in this case their 2023 income, regardless of whether they itemized or used the standard deduction.
It is not taxable on the state return, but is taxable on your federal return.
Some answers you give the program are answers to make the program put the numbers where they need to go, they are not answers that are transmitted to the IRS.
The amount of the New York State Inflation Refund Check will be reported on Schedule 1.
The total on Schedule 1 is carried forward to Form 1040 line 8.

The QBI deduction would appear on Form 1040, line 13(a), it would not appear on your business schedule C. In it's simplest form, it is 20% of your business net income, but it can be reduced by many factors including your taxable income, QBI loss carryovers from previous years, retirement plan contributions and other things. When you complete your return and pay for the program, you can see your forms and then look on Form 8995 to see how your QBI deduction is being calculated. To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3: Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program Choose Tools Choose View Tax Summary See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you are done

I bought premier. It actually downloaded and I got past the activation key. I then kept going and just did the basic minimum in transferring last years return. I answered a few questions, saved, then closed. Now it won't reopen at all. I don't know how you got to a live person. I can't seem to figure that out I'm 70. I'm not a techie, and I have no clue how to fix this. This is ridiculous. I've used Turbotax for many years and never had a problem.

We can tell you how to find a 2024 online return you filed. If you can't tell the reason it rejected, you could ask TurboTax Support who has a record of the rejections. One common cause is an incorrect prior-year AGI used for efiling, but there are other possibilities--wrong or typo'd SSN, DOB, dependent issues, tax credit issues, IP PIN number issue, and a number of other reasons. This answer assumes your previous returns were prepared in Online TurboTax. Any return prepared in desktop TurboTax will not be in an Online account. Here's how one would normally find past-year online returns and how to troubleshoot for multiple accounts (User IDs) if necessary. Many people end up with more than 1 account. The pathway to download the PDF or tax data file depends on whether or not you have started an online 2025 return. I provide both scenarios below, so choose which one is appropriate for your situation. If you have not yet started a 2025 online return: Sign in to your account. What you see next depends on whether or not you have already started a 2025 return in that account. If your left column menu is minimal, and does not have a Tax Home tab displayed, that would imply you have not started preparing a 2025 return in that account. If you haven't yet started a return, it will start asking you some questions. Answer those preliminary questions on a few screens (you don't actually have to prepare a return), and then when you are far enough into the process, the left menu column will change, and you'll then see a Tax Home option in the left menu column. Do not click the Documents tab. Instead, click on Tax Home. Then on the Tax Home screen, scroll way down to the bottom to "Your Tax Returns & Documents". Expand that section and choose the past year you want. If your past returns are not shown there, then you likely have multiple accounts and signed into the wrong one. I'll tell you below how to troubleshoot. If you have already started a 2025 online return: Log in, and if you've already started a 2025 return in that account, then it may already open at the Tax Home. If not, click the Tax Home tab in the left column menu. Do not use the Documents tab. At the Tax Home scroll down and expand "Your Tax Returns & Documents." If the past returns are not there, see the steps below. If you do all that and can't find the past return, here's how to look for multiple accounts: You can have up to 5 accounts that use the same email address for notification purposes. A User ID may be an email address, but it doesn't have to be. It might be only part of an email address, or it can be anything at all. To get a list of your User IDs, reset password, and recover account access, etc., you can use the tool at the link below. When using the Account Recovery tool, try using your phone number first if you can still access it. After that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can access. NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session. https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery If still no luck after running that on your phone number you can still access and email address(es) that you can access, here's another method: Go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, scroll down a bit, then choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by other parameters.

DID YOU E-FILE?
Did you e-file? Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted or rejected your federal e-file. If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.
Check your e-file status:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
What does it say in your account? Does it show that the return was accepted? Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”
If you discover or realize that your e-file was rejected, or just never filed, you will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail now, since e-filing is closed for returns for tax year 2024.
If the 2024 return was accepted, then what does it say on the IRS refund site?
Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

You have to amend to take advantage of the deduction for OT. But wait until your return has been processed and any refund or tax liability has been settled.

There is a really frustrating issue with state withholding ID in regards to Utah taxes that took me 2 hours of deep dive googling to fix. 1. go to the wages portion of your federal taxes section. Answer the questions until you hit the wages forms where you can edit the information. 2. There are 2 editing pages, go to the second page, the withholding number will be at the bottom. 3. REMOVE UT from the beginning of the number. 4. LOWERCASE WTH at the end of the number. Head back to filing and it should be fixed. Kinda crazy that this is such an ongoing issue

If you are getting a message regarding your marketplace insurance coverage and you don't have marketplace health insurance coverage, first make sure you answered "No" to the question "Do you need to report any1095-A's?"
You can get back to those screens in TurboTax to review them as follows:
Click on "Search" at the top left of your TurboTax screen.
Type "Form 1095-A" in the search box
Click on the link that says "Jump to Form 1095-A"
This will take you to the screen that says, "Do you need to report any Forms 1095-A's?"
Make sure this is answered "No"
You should also delete Form 1095-A if it is included in your tax return as follows:
If you are using TurboTax Online:
In your left panel of your TurboTax screen click on "Tax Tools"
And then Click on "Tools"
Click on "Delete a Form"
Scroll through your list of Forms
Click the garbage can next to "Form 1095-A" if you have one listed.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can:
Click on "Forms" in the upper right of your TurboTax screen to switch to "Forms Mode"
In your left panel scroll down and look for "Form 1095-A"
In your right panel at the bottom of Form 1095-A click on "Delete Form"
Click on "Yes" to confirm the deletion.
Form 8962 is for the Premium Tax Credit. You should also delete this Form if it is in your return. You can do this using the steps listed above. Just substitute Form 8962 in place of Form 1095-A.

It depends. In order to claim your child as a dependent, they must meet all of the qualifications:
The child must be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, U.S. resident, or a resident of Canada or Mexico
They can't be claimed by someone else
They can't file a joint return with a spouse, unless they have no tax liability and are only filing to get a refund
Are they related to you? The child can be your son, daughter, stepchild, eligible foster child, brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, stepbrother, stepsister, adopted child or an offspring of any of them.
Do they meet the age requirement? Your child must be under age 19 or, if a full-time student, under age 24. There's no age limit if your child is permanently and totally disabled.
Do they live with you? Your child must live with you for more than half the year, but several exceptions apply.
Do you financially support them? Your child may have a job, but they cannot provide more than half of their own support.
Please see this TurboTax tips article for more details.
Contact your local, usually County, Department of Public Social Services with questions regarding the children's eligibility for Medicaid (Medi-Cal in California) or SNAP benefits.
Medicare insurance is for those over 65 years of age or disabled.
