I have interest and dividend from outside US and I use the desktop version of Turbo tax. When I try to enter the data manually, it insists on FEIN even though there is none. I have tried using 0000 or 1111 or even leaving it blank. None of these work, And Turbo Tax continues to show this as an error during Federal Review. Any solution would be welcome. Thanks.
help says, under federal, deductions and credit, click on estimates and other taxes paid. there is no estimates and other taxes paid link.

@pk  The only payment options available are pay by check and request an IRS payment plan. The direct debit and credit card options both are shown as "unavailable due to your filing choices." Is there a chance I'm stuck in a loop - the electronic payment options are unavailable because I've selected file by mail, but e-filing isn't an option because I haven't selected one of the electronic payment options?   I've tried with both US and international mailing addresses.   I don't have a strong preference for either the bona-fide resident or physical presence tests - if it's easier to process then we'll use the physical presence test as long as we get the same result either way.

The condo received a settlement payment in 2025 from an insurance claim that started after Hurricane Ida. However, the payment received was not enough to cover for a new roof. Therefore, the gap had to be distributed amongst the unit owners. Is the unit's responsibility payment tax deductible?
I have same issue but not able to get it fix.  Can you help to provide more detail? Thanks!

If you have already filed your 2025 return, follow these steps to file Form 1040-X:   Log in and select Amend (change) return for the 2025 tax year. Navigate to Deductions & Credits > Retirement and Investments > Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions. Enter your total 2025 Roth contribution. TurboTax will flag it as an excess and ask if you withdrew the money. Report Earnings if withdrawn-since you won't receive a 1099-R for a withdrawal made in 2026 until next year, you must enter a substitute 1099-R manually. Use Code P (return of contribution taxable in 2025) and Code J (Roth distribution) in Box 7. Please add if you additional questions.
If Turbo Tax says return is accepted. does that indicate payment has been sent if I asked for direct debit?
