If you're just getting a 'spinning wheel' this sounds like a connection issue.  Make sure you've turned off your anti-virus software and/or VPN.     @gowhite

Once you have completed your federal and state returns you can review your tax summaries for both of them.  This will allow you to see if the income is reasonable looking at both summaries for comparison.  For the federal you can also preview the 1040 and schedules which will be helpful as well when you look at the State Tax Summary.   From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) Select Tax Tools On the drop-down select Tools On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary  On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040  For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms     You have access to all forms when you choose to print your return in TurboTax Online/Mobile.  However you are required to pay before printing, but do not have to file until you are ready. Can I print a copy of my return in TurboTax Online before filing? If you are using TurboTax Desktop you can switch to Forms and review all forms and worksheets.         @mjeffrey1066 [Edited: 02/07/2026 | 8:38 AM PST]
The average is about 21 days.  Some shorter, some longer.   If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

It's not available for download into Turbo Tax yet.    I know the 1099 Consolidated Statement can be downloaded in a PDF format but downloading directly into Turbo Tax is a whole different story.  Wait until Feb. 15 as E-Trade has posted under Tax Schedule on their website.

A couple reasons could be saying you need to upgrade…… You might be seeing this because the amount of Medicare taxes withheld in W2 box 6 is not exactly 1.45% of the Medicare wages in box 5, due to rounding. I read a post that said to try leaving the cents off of the Medicare tax on your W2 box 6. Box 6 has to be exactly 1.45% of box 5 or less. If it is saying you need Schedule 3 and can't use the Free Edition it might be giving you the retirement savings credit. You can say you are a student to decline the credit. You must answer Yes when asked in the Retirement Savings Contributions Credit section if your were a full-time student. The answer to this same question asked in the personal-information section is not the answer that is used.

I am attempting to manually complete form 5329 in TurboTax Premier 2025, for a missed 2025 RMD.  I have entered the missed RMD amount on line 52a, and wish to request a waiver of the penalty. I am working in the "Waiver of Tax Smart Worksheet", and was able to enter the dollar amount for which I am requesting a waiver.  HOWEVER when I select the + sign to add my waiver explanation text, and continue with my review, I get an error and TurboTax "thinks" the explanation field is not completed. When I re-enter the explanation text during the review process and select "continue", the text is again lost by TurboTax, and an error is again reported.  I cannot eliminate this error, and get TurboTax to retain my explanation text and include it in my return.

There is nothing that you need to do other than enter your accurate date of birth.  The enhanced deduction is included automatically.   The additional senior deduction enacted due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is not reported as part of the standard deduction on your tax return.  Instead, you will see it included on Form 1040 line 13b.    Amounts shown on line 13b can be traced back to Schedule 1-A line 38 where the total Enhanced Deduction for Seniors is calculated.
