Does starting over actually work? I never saw the option to enter my contributions and am afraid I am going to spend another day redoing my return just to end up in the same place. The program handles the interest correctly, even if someone puts it in by mistake. I suggest you leave a comment for the developers. Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon.  If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab.

If you are self-employed and receive a 1099-NEC, your 1099 forms may not show tips separately. You will need to report the tip income so the software can help you apply the correct deduction.    Use your tip logs or business records to calculate the total, and keep those records in case the IRS asks. As you enter your income in TurboTax, it'll prompt you for tip income and  apply the correct tax treatment. Reference, New Tax Law for Tips
@doglover2026 hard to say without more information.   What was on Line 22 of form1040  before and after you entered the loan interest? That line can't go below zero.

Amended returns take longer to process as they are looked at closer by the IRS.  The typical turnaround time to get a response from the IRS for amended returns, is about 6-8 weeks.

Same!!  And thank you!  I'm also thinking Grock or AI may be able to quickly give us these percentages based on the CUSIP.  I'm going to see.  I think I also read that states may list funds that are exempt as well as percentages.  AI may do it quicker though.   Thanks again!

Line 7 says to report distributions from Trad IRAs but not Rollovers. I have both a Trad IRA (with a post-tax, nondeductible basis) and a Rollover IRA (with no post-tax, nondeductible basis). Fidelity allows me to simplify the RMD withdrawals by scheduling the total annual distribution amount (for both IRAs) from just one of them. So the RMD required for the Trad IRA balance was distributed, but it was distributed from the Rollover IRA. So I think I should be able to enter $0 on Line 7, but TT has automatically populated this line with the total that was withdrawn from the Fidelity Rollover IRA + a separate Vanguard Rollover IRA distribution. This seems incorrect. Line 7 has ALL of my IRA distribution totals, and all of them are from Rollover IRAs, while $0 was distributed from the Trad IRA. Any clarification on this would help. I am trying to keep deferring the Trad IRA withdrawals and covering the RMD from the Rollover account, but not if that is somehow disallowed or illegal. Thank you!
