A non-Taxable State Refund is showing up as a deduction on schedule A.   Taxes were itemized in 2024 and SALT cap limited. The excess over the cap is more than the refund. In this case there was a state payment with the state extension in 2025. TurboTax correctly determined that the refund was not taxable ("above the AGI line)".   The IRS Instructions for Schedule A line 5a state (emphasis added): "Don't reduce your deduction by any: State or local income tax refund or credit you expect to receive for 2025; or Refund of or credit for prior year state and local income taxes you actually received in 2025. Instead, see the instructions forSchedule 1 (Form 1040), line 1." The TT treatment would make the refund taxable "below the AGI line" if one was below the new SALT cap and itemizing in 2025.   Another Tax Software program does not make the schedule A deduction. 1) Which is correct? 2) If TT is in error, how to fix?

Yes, most likely you will be filing a MFJ return for California. The fact that your wife only lived part-year in California during 2023 and 2024 does not affect your filing status, but it does affect your residency status.    See Form 540NR instructions, page 11, which apply to part-year residency.    Quoting directly from the instructions:    "Usually, your California filing status must be the same as the filing status you used on your federal income tax return.    Two exceptions:  1.  One spouse was an active member of the US Armed Forces or any auxiliary military branch during the year.  2. One spouse was a nonresident of California for the entire year and had no income from California sources.
What is entered in box 14?  Overtime? Tips?  Select Other for the description if none of the others are correct.
@GabiU Can you "reach out" and get an answer to the question in the thread below? Thanks!   Is this 1099 Partner list still accurate?

Are you talking about your 2025 Return? It might be that not all the forms in your return have been finalized yet. If you have Draft forms in your return, it would not allow you to download your finished return.   Use this link to reference when your tax forms will be available. You can search by TurboTax Product and for IRS and State-Specific Forms.
@CatinaT1 Can you answer the question I posed in the following thread?   Is this 1099 Partner list still accurate?

I would ignore a one day travel conference.  If there are no NY withholdings in box 17, there's no way they will ever know.

I know I'm not the first to post about this error, but so far I haven't found any advice that helps.   I've entered all of my information and am ready to file, but I keep getting an error that says, "Hmm, looks like we hit a slight snag in this section." I tried waiting, tried switching from Firefox to Chrome, and then tried an incognito window. I've cleared my cache and cookies (which shouldn't be an issue, as I haven't used TurboTax before), but that also hasn't helped.   I'm using the free version, so it's not like it's getting hung up on my card info or because my antivirus is blocking anything in the billing. I'm also not on mobile but using my laptop.
