I have itemized deductions which far exceed the standard deduction. Prior to the update on 3/19/2026, Turbotax Home and Business desktop for the Mac correctly moved the total itemized deductions as shown on Schedule A to the 1040. However, after the update, while the Schedule A still shows the correct amount of total itemized deductions, the 1040 is only showing the standard deduction. The program will also not allow me to override line 12e on the 1040 to the amount that's on the Schedule A. I've reported this to Turbotax, but no answer so far. Anyone else experiencing this program error? As I said, this was working properly until this morning when the program update was applied.

I've taken a look at the token that you provided. The $7900 recharacterization is not being reported as income on your original 1040, nor is it showing up as an increase to income on the 1040-X. Worksheets in TurboTax are showing your contribution/recharacterization as being an $8000 Roth contribution for 2025. There is an increase of income of $1,022 on the 1040-X - in addition to adding the dividend income, did you also add a 1099-R in the amount of $1000 to your return? This looks to be what is causing the additional tax on your 1040-X and not the recharacterization. If you want to reply back and let us know what the 1099-R relates to and if it was added to your 1040-X - it is showing up in your entries as being fully taxable.

There is no form 1116 in my list of forms. I removed the amounts from the 1099-DIV to see if I could zero it out, and it still shows a $230 credit.

One possibility is if you imported any info. Sometimes the formatting is corrupt or improperly formatted. This would require deleting the imported info and form and then entering manually.

If the file shows up but you can’t read it, it may be missing a final “close-out” step from the 2024 program. Try this to see if this works.
Open your 2024 TurboTax software.
Open your 2024 return and let it run any final updates it asks for.
Go to File > Save As and save a new copy of the return to your Desktop with a simple name like TEST2024.
Quit 2024, open 2025, and try to transfer that new TEST2024 file from your Desktop.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.
The IRS Where's My Refund site will not take into account the 5 days early, but if you signed up for the 5 Day Early product, you should receive your refund deposited 5 days prior to the date indicated by the IRS, assuming all conditions are met.
For more information click on the link below
5 Days Early Option
If you don't get your deposit 5 days early, there is a few reasons why that might happen.
Your refund was offset or differed from their estimated refund amount, bringing the refund amount below the minimum threshold or above the maximum. What is a refund offset?
Your bank wouldn't accept RTP (Real Time Payments) or Same Day ACH deposits, preventing Intuit from depositing your refund 5 days ahead of when the IRS would have deposited your refund.
The IRS didn't give Intuit 5 or more days of notice in advance. This stopped Intuit from meeting the 5 days early expectations.
If TurboTax is unable to deliver the refund 5 days early, your order will be canceled and you won't be charged the 5-Day Early fee. You will receive a follow-up email with a refund and timing update, and if any cancellation is applicable.

If you received a refund on your 2024 state tax return it may be taxable on your 2025 federal tax return if you itemized deductions on your 2024 federal return and received a tax benefit from state taxes as an itemized deduction on Schedule A.
When you enter Form 1099-G showing your 2024 tax refund from Ohio, TurboTax asks questions about your 2024 state tax return to determine whether or not the 2024 state tax refund you received in 2025 is taxable on your federal return.
The easiest way to find the total payments and withholdings for Ohio for 2024 is to look at Line 17 (Total Ohio tax payments) on your 2024 Ohio Form IT 1040 tax return.
If you filed your 2024 tax return using TurboTax Online, you can view a copy of your return by going to Tax Home, then scrolling to the bottom of the page to Tax Returns and Docs and selecting 2024.
