Currently there is no built-in feature to automatically alphabetize a list of charities in TurboTax Online or within the "Step-by-Step" interview mode of TurboTax Desktop.    In TurboTax Desktop 2025, there is a technical workaround using Forms Mode to sort your data.   Here's how: Select the Forms icon in the upper-right corner of your screen. In the list of forms on the left, locate and select the Charitable Contributions Worksheet (or the Schedule A Worksheet section for donations). Click on any line within the table where your charities are listed. Go to the Edit menu at the top of your program. Select Sort Table. A dialog box will appear; choose to sort by Charity Name in Ascending order. Click OK. This will reorganize your current list alphabetically.

Yes.   All health insurance premiums are deductible as Medical expenses.   You can claim all medical and dental bills, prescription drugs and health insurance premiums paid out-of-pocket as Medical Expenses in Schedule A - Itemized Deductions.   The IRS has an extensive list of what you can and can’t deduct.   For tax year 2025, Medical Expenses are subject to the 7.5% rule and you can only claim the excess over 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income.   Please note that Itemized Deductions will only benefit your taxes when they exceed your standard deduction.   For tax year 2025, standard deductions are: $31,500 for married couples whose filing status is “married filing jointly” and surviving spouses; $15,750 for singles and married couples whose filing status is “married filing separately”; and $23,625 for taxpayers whose filing status is “head of household.”   The additional standard deduction for a blind taxpayer—i.e. a taxpayer whose vision is less than 20/200— and for a taxpayer who is age 65 or older at the end of the year is for each instance: $1,600 for married individuals; and $2,000 for singles and heads of household.   Here's how to enter your medical expenses in TurboTax: Open or continue your return. Navigate to the Schedule A section: TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to Schedule A. TurboTax Desktop: Search for Schedule A and then select the Jump to link.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.   Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

If those premium payments were not reimbursed they can be entered as an itemized medical deduction.   Health care insurance premiums, including dental and vision insurance premiums, and other medical expenses that you paid with out of pocket funds and were not reimbursed are an eligible medical expense that you can deduct using Schedule A for itemized deductions. However, only your total medical expenses that are greater than 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) can be deducted. Your total itemized deductions reported on Form 1040 Schedule A must be greater than the standard deduction for your filing status to have any tax benefit. Standard deductions for 2025 Single - $15.750 add $2,000 if age 65 or older Married Filing Separately - $15,750 add $1,600 if age 65 or older Married Filing Jointly - $31,500 add $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older Head of Household - $23,625 add $2,000 if age 65 or older To enter your medical expenses - Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Deductions and Credits Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown) Scroll down to Medical On Medical Expenses, click the start or update button

I'm not clear what you are saying happened, but I'm wonder if a refund was offset. The IRS and State Governments have the ability to offset a refund to pay for certain past due debts.  You generally will receive a letter stating what the offset was for.    The IRS provides a toll-free number, (800) 304-3107, to call for information about tax offsets.

How can I enter the sale of a producing oil and gas working interest asset in TurboTax Business 2025?  I am unable to enter the asset because no relevant depreciation types and asset classes are provided on the Enter Asset Type and Class page.  This is for an LLC filing Form 1065, so I don't believe this can or should be treated as the sale of a royalty interest.  Why isn't Depletion listed as a valid Depreciation Type???  Why aren't Depletable Assets available as an Asset Class???

@wrandyr   This can be due to issue with your internet provider, site overload, unfinalized forms, errors in forms, security software, cache issues: To check for unfinalized forms in TurboTax, click the REVIEW tab in the left-hand menu to see which forms are pending or unavailable. If a form is not finalized, you must wait for the update to e-file. Note many forms are not finalized till late by the IRS or the states, then TT tech must finalize them.  There are also Forms that TT does not support (do you have any forms not supported by TT, see https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/irs-forms-included-turbotax/L5KYwBrRH_US_en_US) Try running Turbotax as Administrator if using desktop CHECK INTERNET/BROWSER: Clear cache/cookies, or try a different browser. All TT files must be on your C: drive, not on thumb drives.  Check Form Errors: Go to Forms Mode in TurboTax Desktop and check for red exclamation points, which indicate incomplete information. RUN SMARTCHECK Disable Security Software: Temporarily turn off antivirus software (e.g., Norton) and VPNs, then try updating/filing again. Even if TurboTax says it is up to date, disabling security software and relaunching can sometimes trigger a necessary, overlooked update.  If you know how to just allow a program through your antivirus, you can look at programs recently blocked and just allow them through, often an issue with security software. Manual Update: Within TurboTax, go to the "Online" menu and select "Check for Updates". This should be done after you disable the antivirus, as the antivirus may be blocking the updates erroneously. Reinstall: If the above fails, uninstall TurboTax and reinstall it using your download from the official TurboTax account. If all else fails, print and file by mail.  You may be able to e-file fed, unselect state. IF you have a California/Trust Returns (541/1041), This error frequently impacts business/trust returns. If a manual update does not work, it may require waiting for a new patch to be released by TurboTax.  You can e-file your federal, print and mail the CA return.  Note it is because CA is late in finalizing forms which then need to be updated by TT tech.
It says my NY state return is processing still for 2025. I filed it 1/23/26

If you only saved the data file and did not save the PDF, the only way to view your file is to install a copy of Turbotax 2021 on your computer.  Depending on where you purchased it, you might be able to download another copy of the installer (from your turbotax account, or amazon, or whatever).   There are also companies that keep old computers with old copies of tax programs that will take your data file and give you a PDF for a fee.  I can't recommend any specific program but you should be able to find one by searching.

If you received a notification that your tax return wasn't "approved" it means that the IRS is still processing it. It doesn't mean that it's been completely processed yet.   If the return is "Accepted" but not “Approved,” can take 45–180 days for the IRS to finish reviewing it.    If, after that time has passed, your return is rejected, you will see a specific code explaining why. You must correct it and resubmit it.   For further information, you may contact directly to the IRS: Let us help you
