Similar/same problem: I entered my IRA contribution and it reduced the tax liability. When I entered for wife, for between Jan-Apr 2026, it did not. I changed the entry as if the contribution was made in 2025 and it reduced the tax liability correctly. Hopefully this gets fixed before I file.
You have to make two K-1 entries, one for ordinary business income and one for the rental income. Just make sure you don't double record any amounts.

I did backdoor Roth in 2025 and tried to follow the instruction but I get different questions which I don't see in the instruction.  In result, I see correct value in line 4a and 4b for form 1040 preview, but I see Schedule 2 line 8 & Form 5329 line 25 that I am penalized with 6% of the amount I did the backdoor Roth.  I should not be penalized with the backdoor Roth, and i want to know exactly which questions are impacting this result and how should I respond.    Here are the questions and my answer under Federal -> Deduction & credits -> Traditional and Roth IRA contribution  - Select the kinds of IRAs owned or contributed to for 2025. -> Traditional IRA - Is this a repayment of a retirement distribution you received? -> No - Enter amount -> entered the amount i contributed to IRA and then transferred to Roth account on the same day -  - Did you recharacterize any of the traditional IRA contributions for 2025 over to a Roth IRA contribution? -> No  - Did you contribute more money to this IRA than was allowed in 2024 or any previous year? -> No (I did backdoor Roth in 2024 as well, is the answer No correct?) - Did you have any nondeductible IRA contributions to your traditional IRA from 2024 or prior years? -> Yes - If you made any nondeductible contributions in prior years, look at your most recent Form 8606. Find the box called total basis and enter the number from that box below. ==> 0    Where am I doing wrong?

I have three conversions. Two from 401K pre-tax to IRA Rollover (code: G). And one from 401K in-plan-roth-conversion to Roth IRA Rollover (code: H). Do you know which one causes the issue?

@user17731566663  Just checking, what's the code in box 7?   If you want me to flag this for higher review, I would need you to go to the help or support menu and select "send file to agent."  This uploads an anonymous version to the tech support database and gives you a token number.  If you post the token number here I will see that a moderator looks at it.     If something has changed, that could also impact online users who don't have the ability to manually edit the forms.

Thank you. This confirms what I was thinking.   Note: In subject line and additional descriptive text "8086" should be "8606".

Sorry for your loss.  My husband died in 2023.  Boy time goes by fast.   For 2025 you need to start over with a new return and new account. And don't transfer from 2024. You can't delete a spouse especially if they were listed first. See How to file if your spouse recently died https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/small-business-processes/file-return-spo...   On your new Single return, when you enter your personal info there is a screen that asks if you were Married. Check Widowed and pick the year your spouse died.   Then if you enter a dependent you will get the Qualifying Surviving Spouse status.
Has anyone figured out to resolve this error?

This feature request could save users countless hours in preparing their taxes.  I have TT Premier 2025.  I import 1099 info from 6 accounts at a single financial institution.  At the end run SmartCheck, which finds "errors" or asks other questions such as verify the amount in box 1a, or amount of interest that is from US Government on the 1099.  There is NO WAY to determine which of the 6 accounts this question relates to.  The fix errors question screen does not have any reference to an account number, and if you look at the data import report there are no account numbers their either.  All that report shows is the investment institution's name and FID number - no account number   The only way I can understand which account is to go back to each 1099 from the financial institution and try to foot the numbers in the question session in fix errors to the amounts shown.   Either there is a workaround for this that I do not know about, or the data import should capture the account number and display it during the SmartCheck sessions and in the data import report.   Thanks!

Select "Type it in myself" Next it asks "Who gave you a 1099-R?", you can click "Financial institution or other provider" and select continue Now, you can input your 1099-R provider's info, and continue through the rest of the interview
