@vickyniki A phone number is not required to file a tax return. TurboTax only requires this so just enter any phone number with a valid area code, such as (202) 222-2222

Form 5695 or 1099-R? The two forms are not related.
If you are having trouble with 5695, there is a known issue.
The IRS has issued a correction to the 2025 Instructions on their end. We are looking into it to see if this is related to the IRS correction or if it is something else.
We have corrected the calculation for joint occupants of a home who are claiming the energy efficient home improvement credit in Part II of the 2025 Form 5669. Please refer to the instructions below with respect to the joint occupancy section on page 3 of the 2025 Instructions for Form 5695. If you downloaded or printed the 2025 Instructions for Form 5695 prior to Jan. 26, 2026, please note the correction.
Although, the IRS is saying March 6, if this is the date that they will have the forms corrected, TurboTax software will take a little bit to then make the changes. You can attempt to refile on the 6th or wait for several days after that.

They do not need to verify your identity with the phone number. They just want your phone number to have access to other things. This is so wrong. I already paid for the service, and now I can't not even print out the Tax Returns to mail it if I don't give a phone number. Somebody needs to do something about it. they keep trying to trick you into things. I love Turbo Tax because give me explanations of things. This makes me feel I am doing the correct steps to file my taxes. But the way they are going by this is so unethical and unprofessional. I tried "Tax Slayer" 2 years ago, and came back because I don't understand some of the things. This is making me consider use them again for next year. You know what. If I can call my credit card and cancel the transaction I am going to Tax Slayer right now to file my taxes. I am not going to wait until next year. They shouldn't force us to give us the phone number. They already checked our identity with the Wages amount from last year W-2.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".
After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.
Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund. Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.
To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

New format this year is completely unresponsive to the topic of subtracting $40,000 of military benefits. Why is this so hard and how to do it? Can't even see the paperwork to be filed?

I spoke with a TurboTax expert who confirmed that I would need to wait until after March 6 to file an amended return. She also confirmed I would need to file an amended state (GA) return by mail. I will refile the amended federal return after March 6 and report back if the issue has been resolved.

I have reviewed my 2025 tax documents, and despite entering all my information accurately, the 'Where's My Refund' portal consistently returns a 'No record found' status. It has been six weeks since my return was accepted via TurboTax, and I am concerned that my filing may not have successfully reached the state's system. As I am currently located outside the United States and do not have access to a U.S. phone number, I am unable to call information line for assistance. I have been attempting to find the appropriate department's email address on the Michigan website to resolve this issue but have been unsuccessful so far. I am reaching out to verify the receipt of my return and to request guidance on the next steps.

Since Nevada does not have a state income tax, you should leave that entry blank.

You will have to keep watching for 2025 to be available. I'm not sure when they will start accepting claims for 2025.
