I received an erroneous Form 1099-K and need to back out the amount reported. According to the IRS, the amount reported should be entered on Schedule 1 , line 8z and backed out on Part II, line 24 z with a description of “received in error.”. I cannot find the worksheet to make this adjustment. The “quick zoom” tabs are not working to take me there.

So just to summarize for folks If your kid is a full time student (typically college kids) who made more than 5200, the 5200 question is irrelevant, however, they ask it on the first page, but don't miss the check box on the second page for full time student, that will provide the software the answer for qualified dependent. If you had a senior, they qualify as a full time student, assuming they finished Jan-May/June.

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 20 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

I agree that it is absurd, I just e-filed my federal. Selected to not e-file the state but will use Revenue Online to file Oregon. I was on support call on 2/26 and they indicated it would be fixed by end of month and to check back on 3/1. I decided that was unacceptable and followed the advice from a prior support supervisor that recommended Revenue Online for filing the Oregon forms.

Check these items as well to ensure you have the correct number. If you:
Filed late last year after mid-November or your return was processed after that time—try entering 0.
Amended your return last year—make sure you’re using the AGI from your original return, not the amended one. (If you only have a 1040X form, it’s on line 1, column A).
Rounded your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.
Filed with your spouse last year—you and your spouse have the same 2024 AGI. (Don’t split the AGI amount or enter 0 for one of you).
Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.
This article will give you instruction on how to print and mail your return.

We had a mini split system (electric heat pump and 2 indoor air handlers) installed in 2025. They are in addition to our main HVAC unit. If they meet the CEE highest efficiency tier, do we qualify for an energy efficient home improvement tax credit? Is the credit applicable to the cost of the whole system (air handlers in addition to the heat pump)?

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.
The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.
Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"?
Why do some refunds take longer than others?
What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

I was informed at IRS Website that if You ( and spouse if married) both have NO Retirement Plan like a 401K or 403b at your workplace -- that you are able to Fully DEDUCT a Traditional IRA for that year. Is this true? Does Turbotax show you how to do this . ( I use On line version of Premium Turbotax) Do they ask you this question about No having a Retirement plan at workplace on the Turbotax and then allow this Deduction? Thanks for your Help
