Yeah...I was thinking more about the IRS than the state.   I imagine the various states can have their own problems too.   But if it works for you...go for it.
I looked back at my tax documents and turbo tax did not add my bank information on one of the forms what am I supposed to do?
Will do.  Likely won’t have any new info until next week since it’s now the weekend.
I can't either :(

It seems like I did something that triggered the Deluxe package, but I don't know what it was, and I believe I could have filed what I filed, myself, with the Free Edition.    Sorry you had that difficulty.  It would have been good to ask here in the forum before paying once you saw it was going to charge you and asked for your payment info to continue.  It might have been easier to figure out what it was in your return causing the upgrade and resolve it then before paying.  Be aware that Customer Support may say that in Online TurboTax continuing to pay indicates one's agreement to the fees and terms of service.   But it can't hurt to plead your best case.   Since you ended with a paid product, then you at least have the benefit of free phone support that comes with that level..   Contact TurboTax Hours 5AM-9PM Pacific, 7 days per week https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/contact/

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

I need to allocate my ACA premium tax credit with another tax family on form 8962, and am having a problem.  For 8 months of 2025 I shared my ACA policy with someone else who has their own tax family.  Per IRS instruction for form 8962, the two of us can agree to any allocation between 0 and 100%.  We have agreed that I will use 0% and they will use 100% for the allocation for those 8 months.   But when I enter 0 as my allocation for those 8 months, Turbotax decides to zero out the entire year, not just those 8 months.  Only 8 months should be zero, the other months should simply be the amounts I entered from my 1095-A.     Is there a workaround for this bug?
I am 73 with an IRA and I contributed $8,000. to my IRA in Feb 2025. Can that be included in my taxes for 2025 or would that be for the 2024 tax t=year.

I efiled my FEDERAL return. Intuit's excessive fee for state filing is the problem as it takes a large chunk out of people's refunds. BTW, states don't usually sit on returns unlike the IRS slugs.   Edit: Oh TWICE the IRS slugs CASHED our tax payments then in November said we had NOT filed! Turned out the IRS office charged with processing tax returns were depositing payments but then tossing the returns aside. I hope several IRS slugs were fired over that.  Fortunately the different office that was charged with checking up on supposed non-filers just asked us to send copies to them. I did along with photocopies of the return receipts showing the signature and date the returns were originally received.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.   Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.  You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com              How can I see my TurboTax  fees?    https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/review-fees-turbotax-online/L1XnIzgzg_US_en_US?uid=m682vq7k   What is Refund Processing Service?

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.    Sometimes—not always— the IRS corrects your mistakes, while they are processing your return.    If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed   The Form 1040X is scheduled to be available on February 26.   The date is subject to change, so check on 2-26  to see if it is ready.   Before that, do not change anything at all on your return.
