I'm filing Illinois state taxes for my daughter and it's been rejected for non-matching driver's license information. (It's for my first-time-filing daughter, so we can't do AGI or IL pin, but matching Driver's license info is supposed to be sufficient). The issue is her Driver's license has her middle name and TurboTax won't allow me to input it. I've seen this advice posted (see below) by TT experts, however following #6 isn't currently possible in Turbotax: "Enter each field exactly as it is on your Drivers License or state ID (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Suffix (leave blank if necessary), and weight." That's the issue... I'm unable to access all the fields. The initial state of the Electronic Filing Information form fields are state, driver's license #, Expiration date, and Issued date. Then, when you go to file, TurboTax calls out an issue with Electronic Filing Information for Illinois and provides that secondary opportunity to "add driver's license weight", but none of the OTHER fields (like middle name or suffix, etc.) are editable. Is there another way to manually add this or is Turbotax working on a fix for this bug? Thanks in advance Make sure you have entered the previous year's AGI correctly Verify your PIN Make sure to enter all 8 digits (This is not your 5 digit federal PIN) Verify your drivers license or state ID number is entered correctly If it is your first year filing with your state, you will have to enter your Drivers License or state ID information Enter each field exactly as it is on your Drivers License or state ID (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Suffix (leave blank if necessary), and weight You may not use an out-of-state or expired drivers license You may need to print and mail your return if the reject continues after re-transmitting

If you receive this form 1099-K for selling personal items on Ebay at a loss (for less than you paid for them), for the IRS, you have made a loss on personal items. This loss on personal items is not deductible and is not reported on your tax return.
If this is the case, you do not need to report this form 1099-K on your tax return. Just keep it in your tax records along with any proof that it was for the sale of personal items at cost or at a loss.
Please read this TurboTax Help topic for more information.

LLC was multi-state in 2024 but not 2025. Also had rental income in other state in 2024 but sold property in 2024 as well The multistate in 2024 seems to carry over to 2025 by default Thus, with no income in 2025 for the remaining NC property as it is being rehabbed for sale, I could not enter 0 for rents, so I entered $1 on the federal return and reduce an expense by $1 Thus $1 appeared in the apportionment table with $1 in NC and $1 everywhere columns

The correct thing to do would be to get a corrected Form 1099-B, but that may not be possible. If you can't get a corrected 1099 form you can enter the investment sales individually so you can report the correct dates. That will allow for the proper treatment on your tax return. The IRS will be more focused on you reporting the correct proceeds and cost basis which will not be affected by the dates of acquisition and sale. [Edited 2/24/26 at 8:22 AM PST] @Kitty-99

The amended Form 1040-X is not yet available and will likely be later. The IRS is not willing to accept an amendment for the current tax year early in the tax season. Use the link below to check to see when it will be available. Do not change your tax return until you read all the instructions. TurboTax needs to know the original numbers and the corrected numbers to provide the correct end results before you prepare it.
If you want to make changes or add a document to a tax return that has already been filed and accepted by the taxing agency, you should follow these guidelines.
You must first wait until the initial return is completely processed.
You will have to use the same TurboTax account that you used for the original tax return.
Once you begin your amendment, you'll see your original return.
The refund calculator will start new at $0 and only reflect the changes in the refund or tax due
Only make changes to the areas of your return that need to be corrected.
You have three years from the date you filed your return or two years after you paid the tax due (whichever is later) to file an amendment
