Good morning. I have a direct deposit date of tomorrow 2-19-2026 through the IRS where's my refund tracker. I just checked SBTPG account and it is showing unfunded still as of today. I elected to pay my turbotax fees out of my refund. Any idea when this will be funded from the IRS to Santa Barbara and sent to me? I am wondering if I will still get my tax refund deposited into my bank account tomorrow. I dont show any updates on my turbotax account either. thanks in advance for any help.

The increase in AGI caused by the extra interest income can have all sorts of side effects. Compare Forms 1040 with and without this extra income to find any side effect. It's also possible that a small portion of the additional income actually fell into the 32% tax bracket.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can exceed your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) in 2025, up to a maximum of $108,000 per person. If the program only treated the amount that you indicated was your RMD as non-taxable, then go back and change the amount you entered for the RMD to the full amount you transferred directly to the charity. Indicating that your RMD was higher than it actually was won't cause any problems. That information is only used to calculate a penalty if a taxpayer indicates they did not meet their RMD. It is not otherwise reported or used.

It likely has to do with how your state handles federal income. Where are you seeing this question and what state are you filing? Can you provide more details?

I called support on this and they were no help.
Same scenario
Wants me to do an 8283 even though i have no charitable contributions, I click continue
Takes me to the next screen where it says I need a 8822B even though the responsible party has not changed
click continue
wants me to print the form , I click print and nothing happens
click continue
tells me to sign the 8822 form but now it shows the 8453 and tells me to sign on the signature line
click continue
ask me to attach the the 8283
I did it just for fun with a blank form
I called support and they told me that an L2 said the 8453 pe was not a supported form which I found hilarious.
This is a HUGE bug in the program that is causing headaches for many people
I made them give me a case number - 1770348592655

The Problem: TurboTax will not let me delete an item under "Review Your 10990R Summary". Desktop TurboTax Home and Business 2025 I have a number of 1099-Rs to report on. Review Your 1099-R Summary populates it with my prior year's info and then I need to insert information to update it for the current reporting year. In the past I have received two 1099-Rs from one provider for two different plans. I no longer receive payments from one of the plans (the last payments were made in 2024). When I try to delete it from the list for 2025 it appears to drop it from the list, but the worksheet report is still there and when I go back to look at the 1099-R Summary list it reappears in the list. Winning a "prize" at something like a "makeshift" church casino or something of that nature, may not be considered "gambling" by the IRS. The organizer probably doesn't hold a gambling license, doesn't tally losses, and might even be exempt on tax if they are a nonprofit.
Regardless, the Winner will need to claim the cash or value of the prize as income.
YOU HAVE THE OPTION: Since the "prize" is reported on Form 1099-MISC, that form can be entered and it will be listed as Other Income on schedule 1 and that will be the end of it.
HOWEVER, if you're sure it should be considered as "Gambling Winnings" and that you can offset that gain with gambling loss, you can enter it as Gambling Winnings and then also have the option to enter your substantiated gambling losses.
The gambling losses can offset the gain on your 2025 return, but cannot result in a loss.
Starting in tax year 2026, only 90% of winnings can be offset with losses.
Since the winnings are reported on Form 1099-MISC, and if you want to report that as gambling, and you also want to enter the 1099-MISC so that it appears on your return, you will have to do a couple entries in the TurboTax program.
First enter the amount of winnings listed on the 1099-MISC in the gambling section.
Income / Wages & Income
Less Common Income
Prizes, Awards, and Gambling
Next enter your losses in the same section.
You do need written evidence of the losses if you were to be audited.
Next, enter the 1099-MISC
Income / Wages & Income
1099-MISC and Other Common Income
Income from Form 1099-MISC START or UPDATE
Be sure to indicate that it was not for self-employment by selecting "Not like work" "Not to make money"
Finally, enter and "adjusting entry" to "zero-out" the 1099-MISC (since you are claiming that same income in the W-2G section)
Income / Wages & Income
Less Common Income
Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C START or UPDATE
Other reportable income (the last option if using Desktop) START or UPDATE
Select "Add"
Enter something like "Gambling reported on 1099-MISC" and the amount AS A NEGATIVE number to adjust for (zero-out) the 1099-MISC
This will result in the gambling winnings being reported on your Schedule 1 line 8b.
The amount reported on your 1099-MISC will be on Schedule 1, as well as also a negative adjusted on Schedule 1 line 8z.
The loss is listed on Schedule A and only if you choose to Itemize your deductions rather than take the Standard Deduction.

The date provided by TurboTax is just an estimate.
Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.
Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.
If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds
If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...
After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
