My schwab online 1099 is available today. I tried multiple times to download into the Turbotax desktop. TT says it imported succesfully but no data is imported. I tried the online edition and import worked but I want to use the desktop version. I tried turning off my antivirus program and firewall (Norton) and still have the problem. Will turbotax fix the bug?

Canadian Registered Pension does not appear on the forms list, but it appears on the list of retirement income items and cannot be deleted. This is obviously a bug - PLEASE FIX THIS.

Thank-you for this response.....very helpful. TT did flag the excess and prompted me to return the excess contribution before filing date, which I have requested via Fidelity. When creating the 1099-R (for year 2026) to correct for the excess contribution, there is a box (under less common situations) which asks for 'payment date'......do I enter the date in which my brokerage house made the distribution to me of the contribution + earnings, or do I just leave this blank? Thank-you.

Any update; I was really hoping this update would be released so I can file today.

Yes, you can prepare an unlimited number of returns with TurboTax Business Desktop. You can only electronically file 5 returns, though.

Today is 2/13 and the rental property sold section is still not available, is there any updates for when this section is going to be available?

Yeah, I just tried and it's still not updated for me. TurboTax people, if your listening, the red line for me, kicking TurboTax permanently to the curb, is Sunday (2/15).

When your 1099-R says that the "taxable amount not determined" that is your financial institution passing the job onto you. You now have to determine what portion - if any - of the distribution is taxable. The zero says that none of it is.

I have Home and Business Desktop. After importing the data, I searched for the list of linked accounts to disable access, but I couldn't find it in any menu in the product or the Intuit on-line account. This is a major security concern because even if I change my password at the financial institution, the 3rd-party link remains, and I cannot separate it from my TT or Intuit account. Please advise.

No. If the funds being rolled over came from a 401(k) account, the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box should NOT be checked.

It depends. It should have been included in wages subject to FICA taxes. When an employer gives you a reward (cash, points, or a gift card), they are legally supposed to
Add the amount to your W-2.
Withhold your share of FICA (7.65%).
Pay their share of FICA (7.65%).
Instead, they avoided paying their share of FICA by issuing the 1099 MISC.
In the 1099 MISC interview, you can avoid paying FICA taxes by answering two questions.
When asked "Does one of these uncommon situations apply?", look for an option that says "This was a prize or award from a payer who was not my employer" or simply "None of these apply. Note: Even though it is from your employer, choosing the "prize/award" path prevents the self-employment trigger.
Did you have an intent to earn money? This would be hard to answer no since this was a work-related event.
My recommendation is to treat this like a work-related event and pay the SE/FICA taxes to avoid any scrutiny from the IRS. Answering those two questions above untruthfully is not the best practice in this case.

We have approximately $85,000 in NYS income, approximately $3000 was earned while being a non resident.
When prompted it asks "How much of the $85,000 did you receive from New York sources while living outside of New York?"
The default amount is $82,000, the real amount is $3000. However, when entering the $3000 it seems to calculate based on me earning $82,000 outside of the state.

The make the choice that you did not file a 2024 return, or try using zero as your AGI. If those attempts do not let you e-file then print, sign and date your 2025 return in ink and file it by mail.
