I believe that enough people have standing that a class action suit is certainly feasible. Damages have been inflicted by this company. IMHO.
What is the routing number you entered?

I made a Roth contribution in 2025 that excess based on income. It was corrected in 2025, along with the related income. My 1099R correctly reports the total distribution in box 1 and the taxable income in 2A. Box 7 codes are 8J.  Turbotax is treating this as an early distribution, before age 59.5, and calculating a 10% penalty. I'm 73 which the software knows.  The excess contribution and earnings were corrected within the same tax year as made and are thus not subject to the penalty.  What did I mark wrong? how to fix turbotax handling of this contribution and interest return prior to filing tax return? Thanks

Can the student be claimed as a dependent in the Graduation year? (answer written as if the parent asked the question) If he/she was a student (under 24) for at least 5 months and lived with you for more than half the year, and did not provide more than 1/2 his own support for the whole year, you can still claim him. Be sure he knows you're claiming him, so he doesn't claim himself. He can only be claimed once. But, he can "file taxes" without claiming his own exemption. The real question is who should be claiming him in this "transition" year to adulthood. You two have to agree on who is going to claim his exemption. Each should do their taxes both ways and see which way the family comes out best.  Even then, you have to meet the rules.    There are two types of dependents, "Qualifying Children"(QC) and Other ("Qualifying Relative" in IRS parlance even though they don't have to actually be related). There is no income limit for a QC but there is an age limit, student status, a relationship test and residence test. Only a QC qualifies a taxpayer for the Earned Income Credit. The rule is that a child of a taxpayer can still be a “Qualifying Child” dependent, regardless of his income, if: he is a full-time student under 24 for at least 5 calendar months of the year (graduating in May usually means you meet the 5 month rule) he did not provide more than 1/2 his own support  (scholarships are considered 3rd party support and not support provided by the student).  lived with the parent (including time away at school) for more than half the year   So, it usually hinges on "Did he provide more than 1/2 his own support in 2025. The support value of the home you provided is the fair market rental value of the home plus utilities & other expenses divided by the number of occupants. IRS Publication 501 on page 20 has a worksheet that can be used to help with the support calculation. See: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p501.pdf  (page 15)

@user17710155553    IF the import process popped up a screen the said the download was successful...and nothing was there in you tax file???.. ....THEN, there may be a different issue people have been experiencing.   There is a VERY strange pop-up during the process that you have to ACCEPT or ALLOW.  IF you don't Allow it, then nothing actually transfers. __________________ See discussions: Solved: Re: Importing Brokerage data does not work   Solved: Re: vanguard brokerage update is available from Vanguard but not on turbo tax   and Solved: Re: vanguard brokerage update is available from Vanguard but not on turbo tax

Cannot enter or edit info under 1099.  Needs review is highlighted, but will not proceed.  Forced one entry via form workaround, with the same result, cannot edit. I have PC desktop version Premier, updated. Was told by "help" to uninstall, repair & re-install. Result - no change in software, same glitches.  There may be others, but I get stopped at entering income section.   Once taxes are filed, vacation starts. Would like to get going!
I tried everything you suggested. I'm still getting the same popup (stay or leave)on the same page when I hit continue.

My 72 yo, retired husband had a Roth IRA which was converted from a regular IRA over 20 years ago.  In 2024, he took out some of the funds for the first time. In 2025, he withdrew the remainder of the ROTH.   Here's where I'm hitting a problem: "Was your Roth IRA open on December 31, 2025?" - No (there is nothing left in the Roth) "Did you open any Roth IRAs in 2024 or any previous year?" - Yes (opened/converted ~ 2001)  "Did you withdraw from your Roth IRA before 2025?" - Yes (once in 2024) "What were your Roth IRA contributions prior to 2025?" - We do not know. Did I choose the wrong answer in prior windows or is there a way to find this answer? Thank you!

After 20 years with turbo tax i jumped ship to tax act. It was free an easy to use. Only the state  return has a cos.  Besides the lack of support from the product specialists and from even their quality customer service team who gave me a call to rectify all this roll out issue I gave up because they drop the ball always. My biggest dissapointment has been Turbo Tax’s ability to convey a true status.. Just tell us It could be as late as mid February. . By keeping me hanging on I lost faith in their sincerity and business model.

Thanks for replying. Yes, there is about $900 Indiana local county tax which is in addition to the indiana state tax $1875. That county tax is correct, and Illinois state paid tax should cover Indiana state tax as credit but only pay Indiana county tax. I used other software before and it did exactly like this, that is why this year when I switched to TurboTax, I was confused.
