Based on the information provided, it does appear that the basic eligibility requirements for the Retirement Savings Contributions Credit (Saver’s Credit) are met.
However, there are additional factors that can affect eligibility and reduce the credit amount.
Having enough earned income
Retirement distributions in the prior three years, or
Limitations based on your actual income tax liability since the credit is nonrefundable.
If everything seems correct, and you’re still not seeing the credit apply, you may want to consider upgrading to Live Expert Review. A tax expert can look over your return in detail and confirm whether anything is limiting the credit.
For more information on the credit see,

I am using desktop edition of Turbo Tax and it does not allow me to edit 1099-R info that was also in 2024. It keeps taking me to the import section so I cannot manually enter the data. I have used the forms also but it is slow. Any fix? Thank you, Bob

@ Farmgirl50 wrote: I bought Turbo Tax from Amazon for 2025. I have a number [redacted] but it won't take the last digit when I try to download. We have used Turbo Tax on our computer for 2023 and 2024. Be aware this is a public Internet forum. You should not post any personal info or product licenses in this public forum. It's visible to all, and someone could use the license, which would prevent you from using it. But I'm wondering if what you posted is even a license code. Part of it was redacted by the forum privacy filter. The visible portion in your posting looks like all numerical characters. The license codes I've seen have usually been about a 50-50 mix of letters and numbers. The license code is usually in this 16-character format: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX with a combination of letters and numbers. In any case, do NOT post it here in the forum. After your Amazon purchase, did you retrieve your software license code from your digital software library in your Amazon account, or did Amazon send it in an email? If so, I'm not sure what all you have done after that. You don't apply the license code from Amazon until after you have downloaded the product from the special TurboTax website and are in the process of installing it on your computer. The product license code is 16 characters long and is a combination of letters and numbers. It will likely have hyphens, but you can try without, and it may insert them automatically. In any case, once you have the license code, if you haven't yet downloaded the software installation file, here are the instructions to download the file and how to install and activate it. When you download the software, it will ask you if you want the Windows or Mac installation file. FAQ: How do I get started with TurboTax Desktop? https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/install-turbotax/ If you still have a problem, you'll need to explain in more detail. But do not post any personal info or license codes here.

@lindajbyrne1 NAHHHH...that might work for people using the Desktop software (though it's easier than that for those using Desktop) BUT on a Chromebook, you'd have to be using the "Online" software thru a browser. Thus...You'd use the left side menu. First make sure you are inside your software somewhere, .......then you just click on the Federal selection on the left side menu. (If you are on a narrow screen device, you might have to click on the Hamburger stack in the upper-left corner to get the left menu to appear.)

Try reviewing your entries in the Traditional IRA contribution section. If the conversion is showing as taxable, then the Traditional IRA contribution may not have been non-deductible.
You can also take a look at your Schedule 1 line 20 to see if it has a value there or if it is blank. If there is a value, then the Traditional IRA contribution is being deducted when it shouldn't be.
Review the instructions again, paying close attention to step 1 of the process:
How do I enter a backdoor Roth IRA conversion?

Are you entering an Office of Personnel Management CSF 1099-R or a CSA 1099-R? There are different selections for these forms at the screen Who gave you a 1099-R?
I am able to enter a CSF 1099-R with code 3 in box 7 and compute the simplified method.
At the screen Annuity Information and the question For the years you received these distributions, was the total amount shown in the form the amount you paid tax on?, did you report Yes or No?
If you select Yes, you will not be able to report the simplified method.
If this is what happened, delete the entry and re-enter answering No at that question.

@richlux The Schedule 1-A has been available in TurboTax for two months or longer. You need to make sure you have the latest software update. Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Check for Updates.
If you show as being updated and still have this issue, then use a manual update if you are using a Windows based computer. See this for a manual update - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/update-products/manually-update-turbotax-windows-software-basic/L3Wf9OPaf_US_en_US
Or, save the tax return, close the TurboTax program. Close and re-start your computer.

When you sell shares acquired through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) at a gain, a portion of that gain is taxed as ordinary income. If you are still employed by that company they will add the ordinary income portion to your W-2. Your Form 1099-B should have an adjusted cost basis. In addition, you will need to enter information from Form 3922 which you should have received from your employer or broker. For additional information, see the following TurboTax Help Article: How do I find and enter the cost basis for my RSU or ESPP sale?

@Baskaran3212 IF you don't want to wait until you go thru the actual filing process.... It's there in my test Online account. 1) The "Tools" menu selection only allows saving of the .tax2025 datafile. That datafile will require the desktop software to open and look at. 2) The Print Center selection lets you save a couple different PDF options...either with the various background worksheets, OR just the bare-bones filing copy....but you do have to pay the software fees first. _________________________________________

If you are using the desktop version of TurboTax Deluxe, go to the Wages and Income > Rental Properties and Royalties section of your return and Edit your property. Then go to the Assets/Depreciation section to enter the details for your capital improvement to your property.
