Sorry it's too, late to start a 2023 or prior online return or use the mobile app, either on Turbo Tax or the IRS. And too late to efile 2023. If you need to do 2023 or prior you can buy the Desktop download here, TurboTax 2022 Prior Year Tax Prep - File Past Years' Taxes You will need a full Windows or Mac to install it on. If you have a simple return and want to file for free you can fill out the forms by hand. Here are some basic forms..... Here is the 2023 1040 return https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040--2023.pdf or if you want bigger type use 1040SR for Seniors, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s--2023.pdf 2023 1040 Instructions https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040gi--2023.pdf 2023 EIC and Tax Tables https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/i1040tt--2023.pdf Schedules 1-3 https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s1--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s2--2023.pdf https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-prior/f1040s3--2023.pdf Don’t forget your state. And you will have to print and mail your returns. So be sure to attach copies of your W2s and any 1099s that have withholding on them. You have to mail federal and state in separate envelopes because they go to different places. Get a tracking number from the post office when you mail them for proof of filing.

@prelyea , if they included the "re-imbursement" on your W-2 box 1 then it is taxable income ( and may even attract FICA taxes ). I have a similar arrangement with my former employer --- they put an equivalent amount in to an Health Spending account -- that attracts no taxes but requires me to show proof of the expense ( medical/health expense including Medicare/medical insurance ). Please consult your employer's HR / Payroll dept.
You cannot change the W-2 -- IRS has a copy and any mismatch will attract a CP-2000 notice.

@ stephmu10 wrote: I paid for my MO taxes through my bank, but it also took it out of my Federal refund. How can I fix this? You cannot pay state taxes due out of a Federal refund, and TurboTax does not pay any state taxes due on behalf of a filer. If something was taken out of your Federal refund by a TurboTax partner, it is most likely the TurboTax product preparation fees or any optional add-ons, plus a $40 service fee for that option. Or did you pay for your TurboTax product fees up front with credit/debit card? See if you can tell what you were charged for by signing into TurboTax, and at the Tax Home scrolling down to Order Details. Also, verify the amount of your Federal refund by looking at your Form 1040, Line 35a. Have you received your Federal refund? If so, in your online bank account can you tell whom it was from? Was it directly from the IRS/US Treasury, or does it name a third-party company? That might provide a clue. enter as a positive adjustment to reduce the interest due to the accrued (hence "If you need to add to the interest reported on this 1099-INT, enter the amount as a negative number." - which would increase interest income) 2 things for awareness: 1. you should report the accrued interest adjustment in the same tax year as the next coupon after purchase e.g. for semi-annual paying if you bought the bond from July onwards the coupon and accrued would be included in your 2026 return. Most brokerages don't track this year to year you'll need to keep track yourself to carry over any accrued interest to the following year. 2. Turbotax doesn't know how to assign an adjustment to a specific type of income if you have multiple on the same 1099 (i.e. Box 1, Box 3, Box 😎 - so if you have something in Box 1 or 3 as well as Box 8 you should split up the 1099-INT and input income which has an adjustment separately.

It's possible you are seeing this prompt because the "Canadian Pension" line was clicked inadvertently under the Retirement Plans and Social Security subheading in Wages & Income.
When you are in the Retirement Plans and Social Security section, one of the options to choose is Canadian Registered Pension Income. Go back to Wages & Income, select Retirement Plans and Social Security, and check what entries were made. Delete any entries made in the Canadian Pension section.
If you have inadvertently started a Canadian Pension form, you can delete it. Here are the directions for Online and Desktop versions:
If you are using:
Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TTO?
Desktop: If you are working in the cd/download TurboTax program:
On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
Click on FORMS.
Locate the form you want to delete.
Click on the form name.
Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.

Thank you so much, I appreciate your answer about a personal income tax return for NYS. To further clarify the question, I am an S-Corp LLC based in California and a resident of California. I'm trying to figure out if, through my business, I have to file state taxes. In these scenarios, I worked with editors based in both NY and in OR. So, on one of my projects, where I was hired by a California company to create a film which was filmed in California and the editor was based in Oregon. In that scenario, his portion of the work was completed from his office in Oregon. Would I need to file and Oregon tax return from my business? The NY situation is similar, also an editor who I hired who works from their home in NY. I gave them a 1099, but am wondering if my business needs to file in NY and apportion some of my sales to NY.

No one here can provide firm answers to your questions. We only know that the tool in TurboTax is projected to be released in an update to the program sometime later this month or in March.

@user17705019283 , from your post it seems to me that it is your answers to the questions ( which I find to be quite confusing at a first glance ) that is allowing TurboTax to "assume" that you have nothing to declare as FT. To investigate this further, will you please answer the following ( and any additional info that you think may be useful :(
(a) you a US person ( citizen/GreenCard/ Resident for Tax purposes ) --?
(b) what was the NR4 income/tax withholding statement for ( pension -- what type , passive income like interest/dividend/ capital gains etc. ) ?
(c) this income was received in calendar year 2025 ?
(d) Is this your first year with this income and/or issue ? If you had an NR-4 last year, did you also have an issue then or is it just showing up this year only ?
I will circle back once I hear from you --yes ?

Can you clarify why the IRS says they did not receive a W2? If they do not have record of the W2 withholding, how do they have record that there was taxable income? It seems the issue starts with the employer not filing and/or submitting the tax. This may be the best place to start- request that the employer provide proof that the W2 was filed. If you have not already done so, download any tax forms, paycheck records etc from Paycor. You should also try the Social Security Administration- they would be able to see if you have the Social Security/Medicare contributions for the year were made.
I would contact the Taxpayer Advocate as well- it is best to have as many options available when dealing with a situation such as this. You can also contact your local U.S. Representative or Senator’s office, usually through their website’s "Help with a Federal Agency" section.
Please update on this post if you have other questions.

If you initially answered "Yes" to the question about having a Form 1095-A, but should have answered "No", you would need to delete the 1095-A that was generated by the "Yes" answer to clear the section. To navigate back to the 1095-A section, In TurboTax Online: Go to Deductions & Credits Click the down arrow next to Medical to open that section Click Start or Revisit next to Health Insurance Marketplace (Form 1095-A) If you see the question, Do you need to report any 1095-As? select No If you already selected Yes earlier, the question won't appear, but you can click on the trash can icon under Form 1095-A Summary to delete the Form 1095-A you already started by answering "Yes" before. If, on the other hand, you could have had Marketplace / ACA insurance at any time during 2025 and you didn't get a Form 1095-A, contact healthcare.gov. Your return may be rejected if you were issued a Form 1095-A but didn't include the information on your tax return. If you have a rejection code F8962-070, see this help article. @user17703471698 @careyt
