@MarilynG1 and @prasadnadig,    Just wanted to let you both know that I, too, was given these instructions from one of TT’s “experts” - trying a different browser, clearing my cache, switching from online to desktop - all without success. I think it’s an issue that whatever product manager is in charge of this product needs to address.    PLEASE STOP BLAMING YOUR USERS.

It is a shame TurboTax puts a stupid number on the front of everyone return.  In my case the TurboTax 'effective tax rate is my taxes excluding NIIT taxes divided by adjusted income.  Why would my NIIT tax not be part  of my taxes paid when calculating effective tax rate?  It has the effect, it seems, in every case to lower the %.  You would think TurboTax could simply use Tax Owed / Adjusted Gross Income as everyone would expect and eliminate the confusion and publishing of fake lower numbers.

For me, I needed to enable "third-party data sharing" in etrade by doing:   login to E*Trade-> Profile-> Security Setting -> Manage third-party data sharing   Allow supported third-party financial data services to connect to your E*TRADE user ID.  Do you want to allow third-party data sharing? If you get a penalty on 1040 line 38, you might be able to eliminate it or at least reduce it. You can go to Federal Taxes tab or Personal tab, under Other Tax Situations and select Start by the Underpayment Penalties. You will answer a series of questions that may reduce or eliminate the penalty. Or you can elect to have the IRS figure the penalty for you. It's form 2210. How to add form 2210 for Underpayment Penalty https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/tax-payments/help/how-do-i-add-form-2210/00/25703   It's under Federal tab or Personal (for Home & Business Desktop) Other Tax Situations Additional Tax Payments Underpayment Penalties - Click the Start or update button

Expenses for school supplies needed for her classes would be entered in Deductions & Credits Education  Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T)    START or UPDATE Continue to the screen that says "Time to enter your education expenses" and enter books and supplies (including the computer if it was required) in the "Optional books and materials from the school" This would NOT include Room and Board or "Dorm Supplies" if they are not required for her classes. Those types of expenses do not count towards an education credit.    If you have a 1099-Q for those types of expenses (such as room and board) and the distribution reported on the 1099-Q was used for those expenses, don't enter the 1099-Q since a distribution used to pay those expenses is not taxable.
2 of my assets still have the error! Ugh!
Under Retirement Plans and Social Security  Tab Why I can't enter my SSA-1099 , I click the update button and returns to the same screen ? Help , Thanks

I had a stock with 30 shares and the Company did a reverse stock split of shares at a ratio of 1 for 15 effective May 27, 2025.  I now have two shares.  Schwab listed unrealized loss of $1,222.04 as of Dec 31 2025.  Can I take this loss on my taxes for 2025?   I don't have a 1099B. Thank you, RRC

First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/ If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. The Online version will not know if you filed from the Desktop program.   Did you efile or mail it? If you efiled was it Accepted? When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile. Check back though your emails and spam/junk folder. How to check your efile status https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/electronic-filing/check-e-file-status/L9XhHDPtD_US_en_US?uid=lvriwl8j When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?
I once added $6 in interest and the tax went up $12! It pushed me into the next tax bracket. I was right at the line.
I called that number...on hold for 45 minutes. Then on the phone with an agent for an hour and no results.  Still can't download the data.
not surprised - will be referenced in here   https://www.intuit.com/legal/terms/en-us/turbotax/online-license/   https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/

Where are you expecting to see it?  It is NOT part of your Standard Deduction.   It is automatic based on your age. It is not part of your Standard Deduction. The new Senior Deduction is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e. The 6,000/12,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b with any other sch 1-A amounts. Turbo Tax automatically includes it if you qualify. If you are married you have to file a Joint return.
For Online version You can preview the 1040 or print the whole return https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/accessing/help/how-do-i-preview-my-turbotax-online-return-before-filing/00/26160 What do you have on 1040 or 1040SR line 13b? See the 1040 …. ,
