If you are a non-married couple who live together with your child, then only one of you can claim the child(ren) and the one not claiming the child does not enter anything at all on their tax return about the child.   The “sharing” of child-related credits you may have heard about is only possible between divorced or never married parents who live apart and share custody and who have a written agreement to share the credits.    The child’s SSN can only be entered on one tax return.   Any other return with the child’s SSN on it will be rejected.   If you are a family, then work out how to share the refund between yourselves.

With all due respect tax expert, that is not true. Turbo Tax took the whole $267 out of my State Refund.

Use Form 5498 for the end-of-year value on your retirement account.  Your financial institution should have issued you Form 5498 which will show the end-of-year value of your retirement account.  That's the amount you will enter into TurboTax.  Form 5498 will also show how much was contributed to your account during the year.  See the following link for more information:   What do I do with Form 5498? Where do I enter my traditional or Roth IRA contributions?

You should contact whomever issued the Form 1099-R and request a corrected form with the Box 7 code. The issuer should be able to provide you with the correct code so you can go ahead and file your tax return while you wait for the corrected Form.  I'm not sure how the IRS would treat it if you add a code to your tax return but do not get a corrected Form 1099.  They might do nothing, they might send you a letter requesting a copy of your Form 1099-R.   FYI, you can see a list of codes for Box 7 of Form 1099-R by going to:  What do all the codes in Box 7 of the 1099-R mean?
No. Box 14 is blank.
Plug those amounts into the tax software.  We are not going to prepare a tax return for you from the user forum.

Form K-210 is a form used in Kentucky to determine the amount of an underpayment of tax penalty for Kentucky. You may be being asked the amount of your income for different quarters during the year to determine how much tax you owe for each quarter. That would be used to determine your tax liability for each quarter which would then be matched with your tax paid for the quarter to see if you were deficient in tax payments.

I’m filing CA taxes but live in Mexico and am a nonresident. The instructions say foreign residents should leave address/county blank, but the app requires it. What should I enter?
I have exactly the same issues, I have tried several times plus talk with several; people working for this company.  Has anyone request a report to the BB or a lawyer?
I imported my 2024 tax information but it looks like that 2024 information does not show up in certain areas of 2025 forms.  Specifically the income summary page. Why is that?
