The farm name is your name and the farm ID is your social security number (SSN). No special name or number are required. Report the income and expenses as normal on one Schedule F for all of the activities. See the information below for the CRP income as well.   These  conservation reserve program payments (CRPs) are taxable and depending on your specific circumstances may have to be reported on Schedule F, even though you are not operating a farm at this time. See the information here and at the IRS link. Unless the taxpayer is receiving Social Security retirement or disability benefits, CRP “annual rental payments” are includible in net income from self-employment subject to self-employment tax. Note: Payments that are for the permanent retirement of cropland base and allotment history are not includible in net income from self-employment subject to self-employment tax because they are for the sale of section 1231 property or a capital asset.  IRS CRP Payments and Self Employment Tax If you are receiving social security or disability you can report the income as follows (assumes it is not permanent retirement of the property).  Other Miscellaneous Income: Sign into your TurboTax Online account Go to Tax Home (left panel)  Wages and Income  section Scroll to  Less Common Income > Select  Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C Select Other reportable Income > Enter a description (----) and the amount If you are not receiving social security or disability at this time report it on Schedule F using the link below. What is Schedule F: Profit or Loss from Farming Select Wages and Income > Scroll to Rentals, Royalties, and Farm > Select Farm Income and Farm Rental Select 'I received agricultural payments on a 1099-MISC or 1099-G for my farm rental' as the income type Continue to enter your 1099-G completing the appropriate boxes for your income If the amount is greater than $400 there will be self employment tax calculated and included on your tax return. Please update if you have additional questions and we will help.   @daisycow72

In TurboTax Online, establish the rental activity by following these steps:    Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income. Scroll down to Rentals, Royalties, and Farm.  Click down arrow to the right. Select Start / Revisit to the right of Rental Properties and Royalties. At the screen Here's rental property info, select Add income to report rental income. At the screen Here's rental property info, select Add expense or asset to report rental expense. Select Add expense or asset to establish the rental property asset. Answer the questions to establish the rental property asset and compute depreciation on the rental property asset. Rental property income is reported on Schedule E Supplemental Income and Loss.  See also this TurboTax Help.   IRS Publication 527, page 10 lists settlement fees and other costs that may be included in the basis of the property.   Page 11 lists costs that may not be included in the basis of the property.   HOA fees may be deducted as a miscellaneous expense within the rental activity.   What about the expenses incurred to get the property ready for rental?   The IRS addresses these expenses in IRS Publication 527, page 5 states:   Pre-rental expenses   You can deduct your ordinary and necessary expenses for managing, conserving, or maintaining rental property from the time you make it available for rent.

I tried this method and it does correctly add the tax credit as state taxes paid to the Federal Schedule A (Line 5a) as well as correctly adjust the AZ Schedule A (AZ Schedule A lines 7 & 10).  Unfortunately, Turbotax believes the State Withholding that I entered is really withholding and is incorrectly stating that I had state income tax withheld (AZ form 140, Line 53).  This results in receiving both the state tax credit (AZ form 140 line 59) as well as the withholding.  This is incorrect as it isn't state tax that was withheld.  It appears to me that entering the tax credit as "Withholding not already entered on a W2" does not work correctly.   I need a method to: 1.  Add the tax credit to the federal return as state taxes paid that will flow to my Federal Schedule A since I am itemizing my Federal (and State) returns. 2. Adjust my total itemized deductions from Federal Schedule A to reduce it by the state taxes paid on the AZ Schedule A.  3. Not include any state tax withheld on my state return.   The method you provided only addresses steps 1 & 2.  I need a method to accomplish all three steps   Ken

Q. Only $1800 are out of pocket, so That's all I can use for AOTC, right? A. No. It does not matter what money was actually used to to pay what.  You are allowed to allocate all the tuition & fees expenses to the AOTC  (and away from the  scholarship; essentially allocating R&B to scholarship).   A. You are saying to create my own numbers of qualified expenses and non-qualified expenses for 1098-T. Q. Yes. But, "allocate", not "create".   You have $3100 of qualified expenses. They can all be allocated to the AOTC (unless the scholarship is restricted to paying tuition). I have revised/corrected my answer above to: The parent enters the 1098-T with $3100 in box 1 and box 5 blank.  The student enters the 1098-T with 0 in box 1 and $5303 (the taxable amount of the scholarship, since there is no longer any tuition to allocate to the scholarship).  If the program asks (it may or may not) how much of the scholarship was used for R&B, answer $5303.   Q. So when TT asks what part of the scholarships covered room and board, do I show the full $4000 or only part that was paid by scholarships ($2500 or so)?  A. You show the amount you are allocating to room and board, $5303.  To make some of the scholarship taxable, you may have to tell TT how much you want taxable by saying it was used for (actually "allocated to") room &board. Note the wording at that screen “or other expenses”. You didn’t have to literally use the scholarship for R&B.

You do not enter tax free income on Schedule 1A....only your AGI transfers to this form and if your AGI is below the stated amounts you will qualify for the additional deduction.

BillM223, thank you so much for going through the tedious task of replicating my situation.  To answer your question, I was NOT the primary taxpayer.... I don't think.  Gregory, my husband, always did the taxes.  He got sick a couple years ago and retired and started collecting Social Security on Disability.  In Oct 2025 he passed away.  Now I took over doing the taxes this year for 2025 (still filing joint-married).  Last year, Greg had me logon and create the Turbo Tax in my email address and we walked through doing the 2024 taxes together.  My husband wanted to teach me as he was suspecting that I will have to do taxes for the 2025 tax year.  So his name always came first as though he was primary tax payer and I was always "the spouse", if that makes sense.... although I was still working full time.    Will you be able to claim the deduction for Shelley of $355 on my behalf?   Thank you so much BillM223. I work in IT so I understand what you are going through to re-create the problem. I truly appreciate you for sticking with me!!
Can you please clarify your question? Download the forms from where?

Why has SBTPG been holding people's refunds for over a week when it clearly says they dont hold refunds. When they receive them they process, take whatever fees, then release them. Yet they have been telling thousands of people almost 2 weeks now they have them and won't release until the day on our where my refund. They have 2/3 numbers they say you can contact them on but you can't. Only tax professionals can apparently. And the email they have listed does not work. Customer service when you could get Customer service is rude and unprofessional. And yall are going to lose alot of clients and money if yall continue to use them after this year.
I suggest you enter only the five digit zip code in the "My Info" section.

I don't see where the nominee process would be of any benefit, if it's even permitted.  Wouldn't doing a nominee of the income still require filing Form 1041 to remove the income from the estate?  The IRS still receives the original a Form 1099-R showing this as income to the estate which needs to be reconciled on the estate's tax return.   Also, I suspect that the Form 1099-R shows user17720250883 as executor, not as beneficiary.  The payer has no business knowing anything about estate beneficiaries.
